HomeMy WebLinkAbout1926-05-13 Regular MinutesTukwila was called to order by the Mayor on the above date at 8:07 PM. Present were Mayor G. C.Bergquist and Councilmen Fred Nord, G. V. Harrison, J.'A. Kunz, E. F. Greene and J. R. Naylor. The minutes of the last regular meeting were read by the Clerk and approved as read. BILLS -Tukwila, Wash.', May 13, 1926. The regular monthly meeting of the Council of the Town of The following bills were read by the Clerk and after being approved by the Finance Committee, it was moved, seconded and car- ried that they be paid and warrants drawn for their respective amounts. Bergquist 16.00 TOTAL 435.83 COMMUNICATIONS The monthly report of the Town Treasurer was read by the Clerk and ordered placed on file. REPORTS OF COMMITTEES Street Committee Mr. Harrison. Cinders authorized for Summit Ave. purchased and spread. Rectifier authorized has been employed and all work completed. Building Committee Mr. Naylor. Permits issued as fol- Raising and moving house Repairing house Garage and woodshed Rock Crusher Mr. Naylor explained that King County had not applied before for,.the permit as the contractor in charge did not know that same was necessary. Mr. Dollar Mr. Frost Mr. Brewer King County UNFINISHED BUSINESS A form for a building permit was submitted by the Clerk and on motion, seconded and carried he was authorized to purchase five hundred sets. NEW BUSINESS Mr. Shuart appeared before the Council and requested permit to construct a chicken house. Permit granted. Councilman Kunz brought up the matter of the condition of the guard rails on the viaducts of the Town. After some discussion a motion was made seconded and carried authorizing the Superintendent or treets to have same repaired. #2 5/13/26. Councilman Nord brought up the matter of the condition of Bluff and'Hazel Streets. Matter referred to the Committee of the Whole. Motion made, seconded and carried that the committee be empowered to act on such work as deemed necessary. Mayor Bergquist mentioned that brush growing along var- ious streets was in need of cutting. Matter laid over until the next' meeting. On question Mayor Bergquist stated that petitions were in circulation for a water district to. comprise the territory of School District No. 144. Mr. Miller, an engineer, addressed the Council relative to the proposed water district. No further business appearing, the Council adjourned at 10:03 PM. Clerk
