HomeMy WebLinkAbout1926-06-10 Special MinutesTukwila, Wash., June 10., 1926. The first meeting of the Nineteenth. Council of the Town of Tukwila was called to order by the Mayor at 8:30 PM. Present were Mayor G. C. Bergquist and Councilmen J. R. Naylor and J. A. Kunz. Councilmen -elect E. F. Greene, J. C. Wickman and M. L. Holmes were sworn in by Judge Durbin and assumed office. Durbin. Town Treasurer -elect Mrs. M. M. Lutz was sworn in by Judge Mayor Bergquist announced the personnel of the various committees for the ensuing year and the re- appointment of D. A. Newton as clerk. The Clerk reported that the petition for a special elec- tion had not been addressed to the proper office and had, there- fore, been returned to him. Referred to the water committee. The matter of thistles and brush along the streetswas discussed and on motion regularly seconded and carried the Super- intendent of Streets was authorized to have same cut. Clerk also instructed to ask the Puget Sound Power Light Company to cut those on their right of way at the same time. The repairs to the viaduct as well as the work on the Bluff Street sidewalk were referred to the Superintendent of Streets with authority to act. Mr. Schallus appeared before the Council and urged united action towards securing a water system for Tukwila. No further business appearing, the Council adjourned at 9:05 P. M. Clerk
