PERMIT CONDITIONS: 1: ** *BUILDING DEPARTMENT CONDITIONS * ** 2: No changes shall be made to the approved plans unless approved by the design professional in responsible charge and the Building Official. 3: All permits, inspection records, and approved plans shall be at the job site and available to the inspectors prior to start of any construction. Final inspection approval will be determined by the building inspector based on satisfactory completion of this requirement. 9: Manufacturers installation instructions shall be available on the job site at the time of inspection. 10: All electrical work shall be inspected and approved under a separate permit issued by the City of Tukwila Building Department (206- 431- 3670). 11: VALIDITY OF PERMIT: The issuance or granting of a permit shall not be construed to be a permit for, or an approval of, any violation of any of the provisions of the building code or of any other ordinances of the City of Tukwila. Permits presuming to give authority to violate or cancel the provisions of the code or other ordinances of the City of Tukwila shall not be valid. The issuance of a permit based on construction documents and other data shall not prevent the Building Official from requiring the correction of errors in the construction documents and other data. 12: ** *FIRE DEPARTMENT CONDITIONS * ** 13: The attached set of building plans have been reviewed by the Fire Prevention Bureau and are acceptable with the following concerns: 14: Egress doors shall be readily openable from the egress side without the use of a key or special knowledge or effort. (IFC 1008.1.8.3 subsection 2.2) 15: Dead bolts are not allowed on auxiliary exit doors unless the dead bolt is automatically retracted when the door handle is engaged from inside the tenant space. (IFC Chapter 10) 16: Each door in a means of egress from an occupancy of Group A or E having an occupant load of 50 or more and any Group H occupancy shall not be provided with latch or lock unless it is panic hardware or fire exit panic hardware on rated fire doors. (IFC 1008.1.9) 17: Exits and exit access doors shall be marked by an approved exit sign readily visible from any direction of egress travel. Access to exits shall be marked by readily visible exit signs in cases where the exit or the path of egress travel is not immediately visible to the occupants. Exit sign placement shall be such that no point in an exit access corridor is more than 100 feet (30,480 min) or the listed viewing distance for the sign, whichever is less, from the nearest visible exit sign. (IFC 1011.1) 18: Every exit sign and directional exit sign shall have plainly legible letters not less than 6 inches (152 mm) high with the principal strokes of the letters not less than 0.75 inch (19.1 mm) wide. The word "EXIT" shall have letters having a width not less than 2 inches (51 mm) wide except the letter "I ", and the minimum spacing between letters shall not be less than 0.375 inch (9.5 mm). Signs larger than the minimum established in section 1011.5.1 of the International Fire Code shall have letter widths, strokes and spacing in proportion to their height. The word "EXIT" shall be in high contrast with the background and shall be clearly discernible when the exit sign illumination means is or is not energized. If an arrow is provided as part of the exit sign, the construction shall be such that the arrow direction cannot be readily changed. (IFC 1011.5.1) 19: Exit signs shall be illuminated at all times. To ensure continued illumination for a duration of not less than 90 minutes in case of primary power loss, the sign illumination means shall be connected to an emergency power system provided from storage batteries, unit equipment or on -site generator. Naill JURISDICTION: City Of Tukwila WEATHER: Indoor TEMP: 70° Structural Steel Arrived on site as requested by the contractor to perofrm structual steel inspection in conformance to project plan and specs. 1) Met with the contractor to verify inspection and review pains. 2) Performed continuous visual inspection of multi -pass fillet welding at the new support steel attachment for the hanging digital banner. Monitored welding for compliance to welding proceedures, inter -pass ceaning, filler metal used is 7018 SMAW rod. 3) Verified Welder Wabo certifiecation ofr welder Steve M. Cromien W04905 Expires April 1, 2012. 4) Performed final visual inspection of completed welding and found welding to be complete per plans and specs an visually acceptable per AWS D1.1 -10. *With exception to below. 5) The store front side vertical plate on the HSS buckets was shipped loose for installation of the horizontal HSS due to low clearance at the under side of the roof creating inability to set the Horizontal HSS into the buckets on either end of the tube. Welding was performed on 1 side only hoizontal and verticle at the outside face once the tube was set. The inner face is not accessable to perofrm welding of th 3/8" fillet as would have been perofrmed in the shop. Review by the FOR is required for final acceptance. 6) Visual inspection of the 1" diameter through bolts for the mounting plate revealed bolts appear to be in a snug tight condition at this time. Seismic loads are not transmitted by friction, power actuated fasteners, adhesives, or by friction produced solely by the effects of gravity. 3. The design analysis of the bracing system includes the destabilizing effects of individual members buckling in compression. 4. Bracing and pedestals are of structural or mechanical shapes produced to ASTM specifications that specify minimum mechanical properties. Electrical tubing shall not be used. 5. Floor stringers that are designed to carry axial seismic loads and that are mechanically fastened to the supporting pedestals are used. 13.5.8 Partitions. 13.5.8.1 General. Partitions that are tied to the ceiling and all partitions greater than 6 ft (1.8 m) in height shall be laterally braced to the building structure. Such bracing shall be independent of any ceiling splay bracing. Bracing shall be spaced to limit horizontal deflection at the partition head to be compatible with ceiling deflection requirements as determined in Section 13.5.6 for suspended ceilings and elsewhere in this section for other systems. EXCEPTION: Partitions that meet all of the following conditions: I. The partition height does not exceed 9 ft (2,740 mm). 2. The linear weight of the partition does not exceed the product of 10 lb (0.479 kN) times the height (ft) of the partition. 3. The partition horizontal seismic load does not exceed 5 _psf. 13.5.8.2 Glass. Glass in glazed partitions shall be designed and installed in accordance with Section 13.5.9. 13.5.9 Glass in Glazed Curtain Walls, Glazed Storefronts, and Glazed Partitions. 13.5.9.1 General. (13 mm) minimum glass contact width, or other approved anchorage system need not comply with this requirement. 13.5.9.2 Seismic Drift Limits for Glass Components. _Afallout, the drift causing glass fallout from the curtain wall, storefront, or partition shall be determined in accordance with AAMA 501.6, or by engineering analysis. 13.6 MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS 13.6.1 General. Mechanical and electrical components and their supports shall satisfy the requirements of this section. The attach- ment of mechanical and electrical components and their supports to the structure shall meet the requirements of Section 13.4. Ap- propriate coefficients shall be selected from Table 13.6 -1. EXCEPTIONS: Light fixtures, lighted signs, and ceiling fans not con- nected to ducts or piping, which are supported by chains or otherwise suspended from the structure, are not required to satisfy the seismic force and relative displacement requirements provided they meet all of the following criteria: I . The design load for such items shall be equal to 1.4 times the operat- ing weight acting down with a simultaneous horizontal load equal to 1.4 times the operating weight. The horizontal load shall be applied in the direction that results in the most critical loading for design. 2. Seismic interaction effects shall be considered in accordance with Section 13.2.3. 3. The connection to the structure shall allow a 360- range of motion in the horizontal lane. Where design of mechanical and electrical components for seis- mic effects is required, consideration shall be given to the dynamic effects of the components, their contents. and where appropriate, their supports. In such cases, the interaction between the compo- nents and the supporting structures, including other mechanical and electrical components, shall also be considered. 13.6.2 Component Period.
