This No-Dollar Limit Warranty does not apply to a Duro-Last System installed on a single -family residence. B. Duro-Last shall not be liable for damages arising from defects in the design or construction of the building or roof assembly aside from the Duro-Last System, including but not limited to those defects that result in water penetrating into the building, including inadequate or insufficient drainage. C. Duro -Last is not liable for any Duro-Last System defect or failure nor for subsequent'damages arising from Acts of God or causes outside Duro - Last's control including, but not limited to: 1) Damage caused by fire; lightning, hurricane, gale, hail, tornado, flood; earthquake, animals, insects; or 2) Damage caused by' accident, vandalism, intentional act, negligence or failure to use reasonable care, whether on the part of the Owner or another, or 3) Damage caused by any unauthorized modification to the Duro-Last System including, but not limited to, damage caused by unauthorized components used in installation or repair, by additional equipment or structures added to or ! made a part of the roof, by traffic. or by chemicals not normally found in nature or the like; or 4) Interior condensation and/or moisture entering the Duro-Last System through walls, copings, structural defects, HVAC systems, or any part of the building structure, including from adjacent buildings. Duro-Last does not warrant against color change and/or pattern change and/or print change in the Duro-Last System. F. This No-Dollar Limit Warranty passes to future Owners of the building for the full 15 years hereof. G.This No-Dollar Limit Warranty must be signed by a Duro-Last QA Tech Rep or Quality Assurance Manager. Coverage under the terms of this No-Dollar Limit Warranty begins on the Effective Date. TECHNICAL DATA Refer to page 2. INSTALLATION Duro -Last, Inc. provides detailed application instructions and training for roofing contractors and consulting services to architects, engineers, and specifiers. The following are general instructions for installing the Duro -Last Roofing System. Deck Surface Preparation: The substrate on which Duro -Last membrane is to be applied must be clean, smooth, free of sharp edges, loose debris, and standing water. Gravel should be leveled. All surface preparations must be done in strict accordance with the Duro -Last application specifications. Insulation: Insulation must be laid on the deck and cut neatly around all penetrations. It must then be attached with approved fasteners according to the Duro -Last specifications. Do not lay more insulation than can be covered in the same day. Stagger the insulation boards 50% from row to row. No gaps to exceed 1/4 inch. Placement: Using the roof layout diagram, select the proper marked and rolled premanufactured sheet of Duro- Last membrane. Orient the membrane so the fastening tabs are perpendicular to the ribs or corrugations of steel deck, or to the width of prestressed concrete "T" slabs. Secure the membrane to the roof deck through the fastening tab with approved fasteners and plates, in accordance with Duro -Last specifications. Unfold the sheet, thus covering the fastening tab. Continue unfolding until the next fastening tab appears. Fasten this tab to the deck and repeat the above process until the complete sheet is installed. Penetrations: During the aforementioned procedure, make cutouts in the membrane for protrusions. Fasten around cutouts with Duro -Last approved fasteners. The skirt of the factory- fabricated accessories when welded to the deck membrane will cover these cutouts. Please note that the work on the office building has been completed and the warrantee for that building has been issued by DuroLast and that there is no ridge vent work, or any other work for that matter, on that building; the ridge work is only on the main buildings. The ridge vent work is a very small part of the whole work, but unfortunately, however, the work on the ridge vent has not gone as smoothly as the work on the roof itself and DuroLast has not given the contractor a pass and has asked that the contractor redo a lot of the ridge vent work to their specifications. The contractor is very close but has not been able to complete the work to DuroLast satisfaction due to their schedule and weather as of yet and they are working very diligently and hoping to complete the work on time before the permits expire but as of now it seems very unlikely that they will be able to complete the work (given the weather forecast for the next few days) and to get a completion statement from DuroLast in time before our permits expire. Therefore, we are left with basically two options to respectfully ask the City of Tukwila to grant us as they see fit and reasonable as follows: J.)- i6final pe mit D11 -297 for the office building and give us an extension on permit D11 -296 for he main buildings to .complete -the ridge vent work. 2) To give us a final on both permits as the work on the roofs has been comple ede rrantees have been issued by DuroLast and that we apply for a new permit for t17-dd ge vent work alone.
