My request for an extension is due to the fact that I've not been able to complete the project due to what I would label "lousy" weather. For all intent and purposes the porch is 95% completed, however to complete this project 100% and to proceed with my 'final' inspection, I need to install the final section of railing for the stairs. Since I am using composite railing, I was not able to set the rake for the balusters in a timely manner and before the weather turned. Now that nicer weather is upon us, I suspect I'll be able to proceed and will be able to wrap this project up in short order however current workloads prevent me from making the April 28th cut of date. The exemption prescribed in this subsection does not apply in any instance wherein the work or construction is only a part of a larger or major operation, whether undertaken by the same or a different contractor, or in which a division of the operation is made into contracts of amounts less than five hundred dollars for the purpose of evasion of this chapter or otherwise.
