The Mayor announced the following appointments:

The first meeting of the Twenty -first Council of the Town of
Tukwila was eailed to order by the Mayor on the above date at S.-O
PM. Present were Mayor -elect John rt. Walkup, Councilmen E. F. Greene
M. L. Holmes, Councilmen -elect J. A. Duff, J. tt. Cumming, Philip
Koenig and Treasurer -elect M. M. Lutz.
The officials -elect were sworn into their respecti.e offices ay
Judge Durbin.
Mayor Walkup gave a short talk upon his policies as Mayor anu
particularly expressing his desire that all efforts be made to secure
a water system for the Town. Mayor Walkup also suggested to the
Council the consideration o a paid position of Street Superintendent.
as well as the personel of the various committees of the Council.
The proposed water ordinance was placed on its second reacting
and on motion regularly seconded and carriea it was given its third
reading by title only. A motion was made and seconded that the
water. ordinance (No. 112) be adopted, roll call as follows:
A resolution was introduced authorizing the employment of the
firm of Shorts $c Denny as legal representitives of the Town for the
proposed water bond issue. After some discussion the resolution
was laid on the table.
On further discussion it was moved, seconded and carried to
reconsider the vote on Ordinance No. 112. Rolf call as follows:
The water ordinance was then referred back to the eater Committee
with instructions to report pack as to the legality of the following
changes.
Can the title be changed to include the words "Seattle Waterl"
Have the name "bicDonaid" changed to "Campbell."
Can the words "8 inch" be omitted from the description:
Can the words "steel standpipe" be changed.

Councilman Greene asked that he be instructed as to consulting
the attorneys, Shorts Denny* and was instructed to do so.
Mayor Walkup requested the light committee to investigate the
matter of installing street lights on Bluff Street.
The Mayor also requested the Street Committee to make a survey
of the streets of the Town and to report at the next meeting.
Councilman Greene brought to the attention of the Council the
matter of the vacating of Edwards Avenue and creating keitze Avenue,
that the present owners were in doubt as to whether or not the nec-
essary deeds had been secured and filed. Clerk instructed to in-
vestigate and report back at the next meeting.
A motion was made, seconded and carried that this meeting ad-
journ to meet Thursday evening June 10, 1.7.
