The adjourned session of the regular meeting of the Council of
the Town of Tukwila was called to order by the Mayor at 8:00 PM.
Present were Mayor J.A. Walkup and Councilmen E.F. Greene, J.A.
Duff, J.R. Cumming and Philip Koenig. Councilman Holmes being
absent.
The Water Committee reported that it would be inadvisabic to
change the title of the proposed water ordinance out that the other
changes could be made.
It was moved, seconded and carried that the proposed water ord-
inance be amended as follow:
Section 1, Paragraph 2: Change the word "McDonald" to "Campbell
chane the words "an 8 in. pipe line" to read "a pipe line change
the words "to a steel standpipe" to read "to a reservoir" and thane
the words "from which standpipe" to read "from which reservoir".
Before calling for a final vote on the ordinance, Mayor Walkup
introduced to the Council Mr. Partner of the State Auditor's office,
whom, Mr. Walkup stated, was here at the request of a citizen and
who would advise as to various points in connection with the pro-
posed ordinance.
Mr. Partner addressed the Council and explainers to the citizens
attending the,meeting that the entire matter was in order and in ac-
cordance with the law.
The water ordinance 112 was read oy the Clerk anu dis-
cussed by paragraph, after which, itoved, seconded and carried
that the amended ordinance be passed.
Roll call as follows:
The Clerk read a letter to be sent by the Mayor and Clerk re-
questing the in County Board of Elections to call a special election
in the Town of Tukwila for the purpose of voting on the proposed water
bonds. It was moved, seconded and carried that the letter be approved
Tne Clerk read Resolution 33 of condolence, offering the sAmpatny
of the Council to our esteemed treasurer in ner bereavement and loss
of her beloved mother. Moved, seconded anu carried teat it be
adopted.
Mayor Walkup called the attention of the Street Committee to the
condition of the fence on fir. Stewart's property where it has been
broken in taking out gravel. Also called attention to the Town
tool house and tools and the condition of same.
The Clerk was instructed to suggest to the Election; Board that
August 9 be the date adopted for the special election.
On motion regularly seconded and carried the clerk was authorized
to purchase 500 letter heads.

A general discussion of the matter of thistles and brush both
on streets and vacant land was held, after which- it was moved,
seconded and carried that the Superintendent of Streets be author-
ized to have same cut on the streets and that he post notices call-
ing the attention of property owners to having same cut on their
property.
Mayor Walkup extended the thanks of the Council and citizens
to Mr. Partner for his aid and advice with reference to the water
ordinance.
No further business appearing, the meeting adjourned at
10:15 P. M.
