The regular monthly meeting of the Council of the Town of Tuk- wila was called to order by the Mayor on the above date at 8:00 Phi. Present were Mayor John H. Walkup and Councilmen E. r. Ureene, J. R. Cumming, J. A. Duff, M. 6. Holmes and Philip Koeni The minutes of the last re and the adjourned meeting of June 16 were read by the Clerk and approved. BILLS The following; bills were read by the cierk and after tieing ap- proved by the Finance Committee, it was moved, seconded and carried that they be paid and warrants drawn for their respective amounts. Falkdahl Tukwila Grocery TOTAL 'k1.65 10.00 7.O0 5.00 x67.65 COMMUNICATIONS The monthly report of the Town Treasurer was read by the clerk and placed on file. A letter from Mrs. M. M. Lutz acknowieding with thanks the expression of sympathy sent her by the Council. A request from J. L. Durbin to cut the brueh at the enu of Main street without cost to the Town. Granted. A letter from the State Department of Auditing requesting that 4p10.00 be included in the 1928 budget to cover the cost of auditing tne Town records. A letter from P. 5. Gade cailin the attention of tne council to the condition of Bluff Street. Referred to tne Street Committee. COMMITTEE REPORTS Street Committee Councilman Duff. Have had grass cut along various streets out have been unable to secure labor to finish the work. Streets in general in fair condition. Have investigated securing gravel. Will cost 41.7; per yard andestimate the cost of spreading to be 28c per yard additional. The drain on Tukwila Ave. is broken anu needs replacing. OLD BUSINESS On motion regularly seconded and carried tne Superintenaent of Streets was authorized to order and have gravel spread on such streets as are in need of same. The matter of housing the Town machinery was discusses and held over until the next meeting. #2 7/14/27. NEW BUSINESS Councilman Greene called the attention of the Council to a light pole which is obstructing traffic at the corner of Hazel and Division Streets. Referred to the Street Committee. The Clerk was instructeu to make and present at the next meet- ing a list of all delinquent street ana sidewalk assessments. Councilman Cumming brougnt up the matter of securin better phone service for the Town. Mr. Dollar appeared before the Councii and asked that two street lights be placed along the hi north of Main street. Referred to the light committee. Councilman Greene su that we endeavor to have the Auto- mobile Club place a notice along the highway callin the attention of motorists to speed limits. Mr. F. E. Henke appeared before the Council and urged the im- portance of providing for some method of garbage disposal for the citizens of the Town. Referred to the Public Welfare Committee. No further business appearing, the Council adjourned at 23:45 P. M. Approved:
