CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE PRICING FOR GENERATOR/SYNCHRONIZING SWITGHGEAR PROGRAMMING FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF NEW GENERATOR. GENERATOR SYSTEM OPERATION THE APPLIED POWER CONTROL SYNCHRONIZING SWITGHGEAR CONFIGURATION PROVIDES PARALLELING OF BOTH GENERATORS (EXISTING GATEPILLAR AND MTU). THE SYNCHRONIZING PLC BASED SWITGHGEAR (PLC DIRECT) WILL BE USED TO CONTROL THE STANDBY GENERATORS IN "LOAD SHARING" MODE. AN AUTO- OFF -TEST SWITCH SELECTS THE SYSTEM OPERATING MODES AS DESCRIBED BELOW. GENERATOR AUTO MODE WHEN AN "ENGINE START" SIGNAL 15 RECEIVED FROM AN UPSTREAM VOLTAGE SENSING OR FREQUENCY SENSING RELAY AT THE PARALLELING GEAR UTILITY MV DRAW -OUT CIRCUIT BREAKER MVI -MAIN, ENGINES IN AUTO ARE IMMEDIATELY STARTED. ONCE THE RELAYS REMOVE THE SIGNAL, THE GENERATORS WILL GO THROUGH A COOL DOWN CYCLE AND THEN BE STOPPED. LOAD SHARING. THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBES THE PARALLELING GEAR SEQUENCE OF OPERATION IN AUTO MODE: THE MASTER CONTROL PLC SENDS AN "ENGINE START" SIGNAL. THE MASTER CONTROL PLC COMMANDS THE GENERATORS TO START. ALL GENERATORS START. THE FIRST GENERATOR TO REACH RATED SPEED AND VOLTAGE WILL BE THE MTU GENERATOR AND WILL CLOSE TO THE DEADBUS. THE SECOND GENERATOR (GATEPILLAR) AND THE THIRD/FOURTH FUTURE GENERATORS THEN CONTINUE SYNCHRONIZING TO THE BUS. THE MTV GENERATOR SHALL CLOSE ITS RESPECTIVE BREAKER (GEN- BKR -2). THE THIRD AND FOURTH FUTURE GENERATOR BREAKERS SHALL FOLLOW. ALL ENGINES WILL LOAD SHARE WHILE THE "ENGINE START" SIGNAL 15 PRESENT. ONCE THE PLC REMOVES THE "ENGINE START" TO THE GENERATORS, IT WILL OPEN THE GENERATOR BREAKERS AND RUN THE ENGINES FOR THE GOOLDOWN PERIOD (10- 15 MINUTES). GENERATOR OFF MODE IN OFF MODE, AUTOMATIC OPERATION 15 DISABLED. THE BREAKER GAN BE OPENED AND CLOSED MANUALLY AT THE SWITGHGEAR. THIS 15 ESSENTIALLY A SERVICE / MAINTENANCE POSITION. GENERATOR TEST MODE PLACING ONE OF THE GENERATOR AUTO- OFF -TEST SWITCHES TO TEST SIMULATES AN "ENGINE START" SIGNAL, WHICH WILL START THE GENERATOR AND PARALLEL IT THROUGH THE SWITGHGEAR. NEXT, THE OPERATOR GAN SEQUENCE A LOAD BANK AS REQUIRED. ONE OR BOTH GENERATORS GAN BE PLACED ON THE BUS AT A TIME. AN "ENGINE START" SIGNAL FROM THE PLC WILL OVERRIDE THE TEST MODE AND OPERATE ACCORDING TO THE AUTO MODE DESCRIBED ABOVE. AFTER THE "ENGINE START" SIGNAL 15 REMOVED THE SWITGHGEAR WILL KEEP THE GENERATORS PARALLELED SINGE THE SYSTEM 15 STILL IN TEST MODE. THE MOST UNIVERSAL MEANS OF DETECTING A L055 OF THE UTILITY 15 TO ESTABLISH AN OVER/UNDER FREQUENCY (8I ON) AND OVER/UNDERVOLTAGE (21/51) "WINDOW'[ WITHIN WHICH THE GENERATORS ARE ALLOWED TO OPERATE. WHEN THE GENERATORS ARE SUPPLYING THE LOAD INDEPENDENTLY, THE FREQUENCY AND VOLTAGE WILL QUICKLY MOVE OUTSIDE THE OPERATING WINDOW IF THERE 15 A SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE LOAD AND THE GENERATOR. THE FOLLOWING GENERATOR PROTECTIVE RELAYING FUNCTIONS ARE INCLUDED AT EACH MULTILIN 481 RELAY; AT THE GENERATOR SWITGHGEAR: SYNCHRONIZER GHEGK (25) - SUPERVISE CLOSING (RE- CLOSING) AS A SECURITY MEASURE TO AVOID UNSYNCHRONI ZED CLOSURE. AUTO - SYNCHRONIZER (25A) WITH VOLTAGE MATCHING - TWO MODES ARE AVAILABLE: (I) FREQUENCY AND PHASE MATCHING; AND, (2) SLIP FREQUENCY. PROTECTS AGAINST GENERATOR ROTOR OVERHEATING DUE TO UNBALANCED PHASE CURRENTS. PHASE SEQUENCE VOLTAGE (41) - NEGATIVE SEQUENCE VOLTAGE. PROTECT AGAINST GENERATOR ROTOR OVERHEATING DUE TO UNBALANCED PHASE CURRENTS. INTERFACE REQUIREMENTS THE EXISTING TOUGH SCREEN MONITOR SHALL PROVIDE ALL SYSTEM PARAMETERS AND ALARMS. THIS DISPLAY 15 THE MASTER HMI. ENGINES GAN BE INDIVIDUALLY STARTED /STOPPED WHILE IN TEST MODE. PRESSING ANY EMERGENCY STOP BUTTON WILL STOP THAT ENGINE. THE BREAKER CONTROL SWITCH ONLY ALLOWS MANUAL CLOSING OF THE BREAKER IF THE SYNC GHEGK FUNCTION IN ITS GENERATOR CONTROL PANEL 15 SATISFIED. RED, GREEN AND AMBER LIGHTS INDICATE BREAKER POSITION AND GB TRIPPED. GENERATOR SECTIONS HAVE GROUND FAULT INDICATION ONLY. A GROUND FAULT ON THE GENERATOR DOES NOT TRIP THE GENERATOR BREAKER. THE PRESENCE OF A GROUND FAULT 15 INDICATED AT THE MULTILIN 481 RELAY FOR ITS GENERATOR. GENERATOR ALARMS ARE ANNUNCIATED AT THE SWITGHGEAR. A RED LED ON THE DIGITAL DISPLAY INDICATES WHEN THE GENERATOR 15 114 ALARM. THE DISPLAY ALLOWS THE OPERATOR TO SCROLL THROUGH AN ALARM MENU TO DETERMINE THE ALARMING CONDITION AND RESET THE ALARM.
