Engstrom Tukwila, Wash., Sept. 8, 1927 The regular meeting of the Council of the Town of Tukwila was called to order by the Mayor on the above date at 5:10 P. M. Present were Mayor John R. Walkup and Councilmen E.F. Greene, J.R. Cumming, J.A.. Duff, M. L. Holmes and Phillip Koenig. The minutes of the last regular and recessed meeting were read by the Clerk and approved as read. BILLS The following bills were read by the Clerk and after being ap- proved by the Finance Committee, it was regularly moved, seconded and carried that they be paid and warrants issued for their res- pective amounts. TOTAL Seattle 4 i. 65 7.50 3.00 Tukwila 10.00 11 it It .2.50 46.-10 21.45 132.30 COMMUNICATIONS The regular monthly report of the Town Treasurer was read by the Clerk and placed on file. COMMITTEE REPORTS Street Committee Councilman Duff. Have had all streets worked over and gravel placed on First ana Rainier Avenues. Reco- mend that all streets be one over with a scarifier. Several sidwaiks in need of repair. Recommend that they be re.aid with concrete. Owners to be instructed to have same repaired. Water Committee Councilman Greene. We recommenu that the engineerin firm of J.D. Blackwell be employed to handle the engineering work and installation of the water system. Resolution 35 0LD BUSINESS The Clerk advised that on advice that he had not written the notices to the owners of delinquent local assessment property as such should be handled by the Town attorneys. The proposed budget for the year 1928 was discussed and referred to a special meeting called for Monday, October 3, 1927 at 10:00 A. M. at which time any citizens so desiring may enter protest to said budget. NEW BUSINESS It was moved, seconded and carried that the Superintendent of streets be authorized to have all streets gone over with a scarifier. Mayor Walkup stated that he had been instructed by the attorneys that an engineer should be selected at once so that bids for both bonds and work incident to the water„ca'i be issued simultaneouiiy. 9/8/27 #2. It was moved, seconded and carried that the engineering, firm of J. D. Blackwell Co. of Seattle be employeed to handle the engineer- ing work, etc., incident to the instailation of the Tukwila Water System. It was Moved, seconded and carried that this meeting recess subject to the call of the Mayor. 9:05 P.M. Tukwila, Wash., Sept 29, 1927. The recess taken at the regular meeting of the Council of the Town of Tukwila held September 8, 1947 was reconvened on the above date at 8:00 P. M. Present were Mayor John H. Walkup and Council- men E. F. Greene, J. K. Cumming, J. A. Duff Phillip Koenig and M. L. Holmes. The Clerk being absent Councilman E. F. Greene was elected clerk Pro Tem. No further business appearing, the meeting adjourned at 8:23 P. M. Tukwila, Wash., Oct. 3, 1927. A special meeting of the Council of the Town for the purpose of hearing, protests to the proposed budget for the year 1928 was called to order by the Mayor on the above date at 10:00 A. M. Present were Major John R. Walkup and Councilmen E. F. Greene, J. A. Duff and Phillip Koeni Councilmen J. R. Cumming and M. L. Holmes being absent.
