was called by the mayor on the above date Sor the purpose of con-
sidering two matters of business; namely, to fill the vacancy on the
council caused by the resignation of J. A. Duff; and to consider
the matter of advertising for sale the $14,000 general obligation
bonds which were authorized by a vote of the qualified voters of
Tukwila in a special election held August Q, 1927.
The roll was called by the clerk. Those present were Mayor
John R. Talkup and councilmen E. F. Greene, James Cumming and Phil-
lip Koenig.
After a short discussion a motion was made that the clerk
proceed to advertise for dale in the manner required by law the
$14,000 general obligation bonds. A second was made. The clerk
called the roll.
A general discussion regarding the vacancy on the council
was followed by a motion that J. 8. Heemink be elected to fill the
vacancy on the council. The cleric called the roll.

Councilman Greene announced that a rumor was afloat that
certain citizens wished to brdmg up the matter of disincorporation
/gain. He said he felt that we should combat any such attempt by
the disemination of the truth especially among such as are newcomers.
The Mayor made a lengthy address on the future of Tukwila
fnd the prospects for the development of Tukwila and the adjacent
territory. He made the perdiction that there was little in the
future for Tukwila if it should become d disincorporated and dis-
organized community.
The meeting was adjourned by the Mayor at :40 p.m.
