2: No changes shall be made to the approved plans unless approved by the design professional in responsible charge and the
Building Official.
3: All mechanical work shall be inspected and approved under a separate permit issued by the City of Tukwila Permit Center
(206/431- 3670).
4: All permits, inspection records, and approved plans shall be at the job site and available to the inspectors prior to
start of any construction. These documents shall be maintained and made available until final inspection approval is
granted.
5: All construction shall be done in conformance with the approved plans and the requirements of the International
Building Code or International Residential Code, International Mechanical Code, Washington State Energy Code.
6: Remove all demolition rubble and loose miscellaneous material from lot or parcel of ground, properly cap the sanitary
sewer connections, and properly fill or otherwise protect all basements, cellars, septic tanks, wells, and other
excavations. Final inspection approval will be determined by the building inspector based on satisfactory completion of
this requirement.
7: VALIDITY OF PERMIT: The issuance or granting of a permit shall not be construed to be a permit for, or an approval of,
any violation of any of the provisions of the building code or of any other ordinances of the City of Tukwila. Permits
presuming to give authority to violate or cancel the provisions of the code or other ordinances of the City of Tukwila
shall not be valid. The issuance of a permit based on construction documents and other data shall not prevent the
Building Official from requiring the correction of errors in the construction documents and other data.

Value of construction - in all cases, a value of construction amount should be entered by the applicant. This figure will be reviewed and is subject
to possible revision by the permit center to comply with current fee schedules.
Expiration of plan review - applications for which no permit is issued within 180 days following the date of application shall expire by limitation.
The building official may grant one extension of time for additional periods not to exceed 90 days each. The extension shall be requested in writing
and justifiable cause demonstrated. Section 105.3.2 international building code (current edition).

PROJECT GENERAL NOTES:
1. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COMPLETE SECURITY OF
THE BUILDING AND SITE WHILE THE JOB IS IN PROGRESS AND UNTIL THE WORK IS
COMPLETED.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL TAKE ALL NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS TO ENSURE THE
SAFETY OF THE OCCUPANTS AND WORKERS AT ALL TIMES DURING THE COURSE
OF THIS PROJECT.
ALL OPERATIONS CONDUCTED ON THE PREMISES SHALL NOT BE OBJECTIONABLE
BEYOND THE PROPERTY BOUNDARY LINES BY REASON OF NOISE, STEAM, ODOR,
FUMES, GASSES, SMOKE, VIBRATION, HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS OR OTHER SUCH
CAUSES.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SECURE ALL SUCH INSPECTIONS AND FINAL
APPROVALS FROM THE FIRE DEPARTMENT PRIOR TO OCCUPANCY.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY ALL EXISTING CONDITIONS, DIMENSIONS,
DETAILS, ETC. AND NOTIFY THE ARCHITECT OF ANY DISCREPANCIES PRIOR TO

ACCEPTANCE OF EXISTING CONDITIONS AS ADEQUATE FOR THE PROPER
COMPLETION OF THE WORK DETAILED HEREIN.
EXISTING DETAILS, ELEVATIONS AND LOCATIONS TO BE JOINED SHALL BE
VERIFIED BY THE CONTRACTOR PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT OF WORK. IF
CONDITIONS OR DETAILS DIFFER FROM THOSE SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS, THE
CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE ARCHITECT IMMEDIATELY SO THAT
APPROPRIATE MODIFICATIONS CAN BE MADE BEFORE PROCEEDING.
THERE SHALL BE NO DEVIATIONS FROM THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS WITHOUT

HVAC General Notes:
Codes
Complete installation of the mechanical system shall be per the most
current applicable building, mechanical, energy and fire codes, and
regulations, as adapted by the City of Tukwila.
Insulation/Lining /Sealant Notes
As a minimum, comply with the thickness and types listed in the energy
code enforced by the City of Tukwila.
Balance and Commissioning
Commissioning and Completion Documents to be in compliance with
2009 Washington State Energy Code, Section 1416.
Air balance volume's at all supply and return outlets to be as indicated
per sheet M/1.
Occupancy Air Volume
Minimum Occupancy air volumes per 2009 International Mechanical
Code, Table 403.3, for Type Group "B" Occupancy.
System design @ .06 CFM per square foot.
Total space square footage = 2,500
2,500 x .06 = 150 CFM
Occupancy Air provided via air side economizer set at the minimum
open position.
Sheet Metal Notes
Reference:_SMACNA HVAC Duct Construction Standards, Metal and
Flexible, Current Edition.
Volume Dampers
Provide an accessible, lockable, manual air volume control damper for
each supply and return air opening.
Thermostat
Relocate and recalibrate the existing thermostat. Locate as indicated on
sheet M/1, mount at five feet above finish floor.
Scope of Work
Removal of all existing interior ductwork and ceiling diffusers.
( Excluding Source Specific Exhaust and Fans.)
( Existing rooftop unit to remain at it's current location.)
Installation of all new interior ductwork and diffusers per the mechanical
drawings. Duct size's and air volumes as shown on plans.
Provide and install a new factory built, 0 -100% air side economizer to
the existing rooftop unit. New economizer to be compatible with, and to
be of the same manufacturer as the existing RTU.
Relocate (1) existing thermostat due to wall reconfiguration.
Air balance system, perform completion and commissioning procedures
as required.
