The regular monthly meeting of the council of the Town of
Tukwila was called to order by the Mayor at $:00 p. m. Mayor John
R._ Walkup and councilmen Philip Koenig, James Cumming, Joseph Tonn,
J. B. Heemink and S. H. Stevens were present.
The minutes of the last regular meeting were read by the clerk,
approved by the council and ordered placed in the files by the Mayor.
The following bills were read by the clerk and submitted to
the finance committee for its approval. All bills excepting that of
Wright, Froude, Allen and Hilen were approved and a motion that they
be paid and warrants drawn for their respective amounts was made,
seconded and carried.

The Treasurer's Monthly report was read by the clerk and
ordered filed by the Mayor.
Surety bonds, one each for the Clerk and the Treasurer,
were submitted to the Council. They were approved and the Clerk's
bond was given into the custody of the M The `treasurer's bond
was placed in the Clerk's files. Mayor.
A contract for street lig' ting was introduced and read by
the Clerk. On a motion duly made, seconded and carried the contract
was deferred until the next regular meeting of the Council.
A petition signed by a majority of the property owners in
the Town of Tukwila asking the Council to create a local improvement
district for the pnnpose of installing a water distrmbution system
was read by the Clark and filed by order of the Mayor.
CO'24ITTEE REPORTS:
The chairman of the laws and ordinance committee reported that
his committee had taken up the case of Batcheller vs. Tukwila and that
after due it}vestigation they had deemed it advisable to settle the
case out of court; and it was the committee's recommendation that the
Treasurer be instructed to sign the warrant of $350, which sum was
payment in full for the. debt. A motion was made, seconded and carried
that the committee's report be accepted and that the Treasurer be in-
structed to.sign the warrant.
The chairman of the streets and alleys committee made the fol-
lowing recmmdndations: That the trestle sidewalks be repaired before
next winter; that the individual property look after the repair of
their own sidewalks without being notified by the committee so to do;
that the propertguthofities be notified to clean up the slides of
of gravel on and near the highway at the bluff; that the brush be
cut from the streets, especially on south Riverside Avenue which is
much used by the school children; that the culvert at Doty's corner
be repaired; and that the well used by 3. L. Walton being situated
in a public street should be filled up. A motion was made, seconded
and carried that the committee's report be accepted and that the
chairman be empowered to proceed titiv.the work outlined in the report.
OLD BUSINESS:
None.
NEW BUSINESS:
An ordinance relating to loom ;rnprovements in the Town of
Tukwila and repealins all ordinances and parts of ordinances in con+
flict IresAiat1oduced and read by the Clerk. On request of the Mayor
it was read a second time by title only. On motion duly made and
seconded it was read a third time by title only and passed unanimous-
ly by the council when the Clerk called the roll.

On passage it became Ordinance No. 115 of the Town of Tukwila.
An ordinance providing for the issuance of 114,000 general
negotiable coupon bonds of the Town of Tukwila, Kins County, Washin-
ton, providing for the date maturities, interest rate, place of pay-
ment, denominations, executions,, delivery, form and other details of
said bonds, and accepting the bid of the State of Washington therefor,
and providing for the levy of taxes to pay the principal and interest
thereof was read by the Clerk. On request of the Mayor it was read
a second time by title only. On motion duly made and seconded it was
read a third time by title only and passed unanimously by the co
cil when the Clerk called the roll.

On passage it became Ordinance No 116. of the Town of Tukwila.
Building permits were issued to H. C. Fredricksen and to
Paul Fox.
No further business appearing a motion was duly made, second-
ed and carried that the council adjourn. Time 10 :00
