HomeMy WebLinkAbout1928-08-10 Special MinutesTukwila, August 10, 1928 A special meeting of the Council of the Town of Tukwila was called by the Mayor by a° written notice given more than three holm before the meeting to each councilmen, for the purpose of consider- ing matters of business which might come Zef ore the Council; Those present were Mayor John R. Walkup and Councilmen James- Cumming, Phillip Koenig and Joseph Ton. Resolution 38 rescinding Resolution No. 37 of the Town of Tukwila was read by the Clerk, On motion duly made, seconded and carried the resolution was passed and became Resolution No. 38. A resolution of the Council declaring its intention of im- proveng certain parts of the town by the laying and constructiono of water pipes, setting the date for the hearing on the local im- provement assessments, etc. was read by the Clerk. On motion duly made, seconded and carried the resolution was adopted and became Resolution No 39 of the Town of Tukwila An ordinance designating the National Bank of Commerce as the official depository for the funds of the Town of Tukwila was introduced and read by the Clerk.. It was: read a second and third time by title only by order of the Mayor. On motion duly made, seconded and unanimously carried the ordinance was passed and be- came ordinance Nol 118 of the Town of Tukwila. Councilman Koenig yes Councilman Cumming Yes Ton The Light committee reported that it had considered the mat- ter of the street lighting contract and recommended that the con- tract submitted by the Company be accepted. It recommended fur- ther that a street light opposite the School house. It was moved, seconded and carried that the report be accepted and that the Clerk.be instructed to write to Herman Anderson and request that the School board repair the sidewalk ad4oining the school property. A, motion was made, seconded and carried that the Mayor and Clerk be empowered to negotiate for easements for the main pipe line from Beacon Hill; to apply for crossing permits at the Rail- roads, the Interurban and the highway; and to negotiate for a tank site.
