All hot and cold water pipes installed outside the conditioned space shall be insulated to minimum R -3. 8: Plastic and copper piping running through framing members to within one (1) inch of the exposed framing shall be protected by steel nail plates not less than 18 guage. 9: Piping through concrete or masonry walls shall not be subject to any load from building construction. No plumbing piping shall be directly embedded in concrete or masonry. 10: All pipes penetrating floor /ceiling assemblies and fire - resistance rated walls or partitions shall be protected in accordance with the requirements of the building code. 11: Piping in the ground shall be laid on a firm bed for its entire length. Please submit attached PW permit application with 4 sets of plans and construction cost estimate, see attached Public Works Bulletin A1,2. Permit fee is $250 plus 5% of construction cost outside the building. The outside work listed on C302 is not in our scope of work. Hermanson will not be applying for the permit. Are these hose bibs interior or exterior to the building? What will the water from the hose bibs be used for? Explain what the 1.5" double check in General Note #1 is protecting. Is it for premise isolation? Provide information where is the exsisting downstream of the meter protecting City water system. If not one has to be installed immediately downstream of the domestic water system in a freeze protection enclosure under a Public Works Permit. The double check valve and hose bib are called out with General Note 1. Construction Note 5 pointing at the same equipment is incorrect and should have been indicated as Construction Note 6. This equipment is interior to the building. The room where this equipment is located is some sort of ground (waste) water treatment area. The backflow prevention device is to protect the domestic water system. 6) Sheets RFM111- RFM117 refer to Detail B Dwg. 2- 31 -A507, however this drawing or detail was missing in your submittal.
