ORDINANCE NO. 547 AN ORDINANCE approving and confirming
the reassessment of assessments and
°t assessment roll of Local Improvement
District No. 8, as modified herein which
has been created and established for the
purpose of improving certain areas within
the City by the construction and installa-
tion of water pipelines as provided by
Ordinance No. 399, and which reassessment
of assessments and assessment roll was
ordered by Ordinance No. 540, and levying.
and assessing the amounts thereof against
the several lots, tracts, parcels of land
and other properties shown on said roll,
as modified.
WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 399, Local Improvement
District No. 8 was created in the City of Tukwila, and
WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 540, reassessment of
the assessments and assessment roll of Local Improvement 1'1 4
District No. 8 was ordered by the City Council of the
City of Tukwila, and
WHEREAS, The Assessment roll levying the reassessment
of special assessments against properties located in
Local Improvement District No. 8 in the City of Tukwila,
created under Ordinance No. 399, was filed with the City
Clerk of the City of Tukwila as required by law; and
WHEREAS, notice of the time and place of hearing
thereon and of making objections and protests to said roll
was duly published at and for the time and in the manner
provided by law, fixing the time and place of hearing thereon
for the 24th day of February 1969, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock
p.m. (PST) in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, Tukwila,
Washington, and further notice thereof was duly mailed by the
City Clerk to each property owner shown on said roll a I

WHEREAS, at the time and place fixed and designated in
said notice, the hearing on said reassessment of the
assessment roll was duly held and all written protests
filed with the City Clerk were duly considered and all
property owners appearing.at said hearing were duly heard,
and the City Council overruled all written protests,
received and denied all requests for changes of assessments
on said reassessment roll with the exception of the protest,
filed by the City of Seattle, which assessment the

City Council determined should be reduced in the amount of
$600.00; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the total
amount of their assessment roll should be reduced in the
additional amount of $1,500.00; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
DO ORDAIN as follows:
Section 1. All written protests filed against the

reassessment of the assessment roll of Local Improvement O ff
District No. 8 and all requests for changes thereon are
hereby overruled and denied with the exception of the protest
of the City of Seattle, which assessment is hereby reduced in
the amount of $600.00 as recognized consideration for the granting
of easements pursuant to City of Tukwila Ordinance No. 445.
Section 2. The total amount of the reassessment roll of
Local Improvement District No. 8 is hereby reduced in the
additional amount of $1,500.00 and the assessment appearing
against each lot, tract and parcel of land or other property
shown upon said roll is hereby proportionally reduced.

Section 3. The reassessment of assessments and assessment
roll of Local Improvement District No. 8 which has been created
and established for the purpose of paying the cost of
improving certain areas within the City by the construction
and installation of water pipelines, as provided by Ordinance
No. 399, and ordered reassessed by Ordinance No. 540, and
modified herein, be and the same is hereby in all things and
respects approved and confirmed in the total amount of
$52,738.14.
Section 4. Each of the lots, tracts, parcels of land
and other property shown upon the said roll, is hereby
determined and declared to be specially benefited by said
improvements in at least the amount charged against the
same and the assessments appearing against the same is in
proportion to the several assessments appearing upon said
roll, as modified herein. There is hereby levied and assessed
against each lot, tract, parcel of land and other property
appearing upon said roll, as modified herein, the amount finally
charged against the same thereon.
Section 5. The reassessment of the assessment roll, as
approved and confirmed shall be filed with the Treasurer of
the City of Tukwila for collection and said City Treasurer
is hereby authorized and directed to publish notice as required
by law stating that said roll is in her hands for collection
and that payment of any assessment thereon or -any portion of
said assessment can be made at any time within 30 days from

U 4 interest or cost, and thereafter the sum remaining unpaid may
be paid in ten (10) equal annual installments with interest
thereon hereby fixed at the rate of 6% per annum. The first
installment of assessments on said assessment roll shall become
due and payable during the 30-day period succeeding the date one
year after the date of first publication by the City Treasurer:,

that notice of the assessment roll is in her hands for collection
and annually thereafter each succeeding installment shall become
due and payable in like manner. If the whole or any portion

ON of the assessments remains unpaid after the first 30 -day period,
C `j interest upon the whole unpaid sum shall be charged at the rate
of 6% per annum and each year thereafter one of said installments,
together with interest due on the whole of the unpaid balance,
shall be collected. Any installment not paid prior to the
expiration of the said 30-day period during which such
installment is due and payable shall thereupon become delinquent.
All delinquent installments shall be subject to a charge for
interest at 6% per annum and for an additional charge of 5%
penalty levied upon both principal and interest due upon
such installment or installments. The collection of such
delinquent installments will be enforced in the manner provided
by law.
PASSED by the City Council at a regular meeting thereof
and approved by the Mayor of the City of Tukwila, Washington,
