sewer connections, and properly fill or otherwise protect all basements, cellars, septic tanks, wells, and other
excavations. Final inspection approval will be determined by the building inspector based on satisfactory completion of
this requirement.
7: All electrical work shall be inspected and approved under a separate permit issued by the City of Tukwila Building
Department (206- 431- 3670).
8: VALIDITY OF PERMIT: The issuance or granting of a permit shall not be construed to be a permit for, or an approval of,
any violation of any of the provisions of the building code or of any other ordinances of the City of Tukwila. Permits
presuming to give authority to violate or cancel the provisions of the code or other ordinances of the City of Tukwila
shall not be valid. The issuance of a permit based on construction documents and other data shall not prevent the
Building Official from requiring the correction of errors in the construction documents and other data.

which we received on March 23, 2010. In accordance to the memo we are submitting written clarification
regarding the Plumbing fixture count as follows.
1. Item #1 —The Plumbing Requirements listed on the cover sheet has been updated per your request in
accordance to the Washington State Amendments Table 2902.1 for Group M, using the 200 square
feet per occupant as sated in the amendments. The changes have been clouded and identified with a
triangle '1' for clarity purpose on sheet T 1.0. Please see the drawings submitted as required per City
of Tukwila.

This letter is to inform you of corrections that must be addressed before your mechanical permit can be
approved. All correction requests from each department must be addressed at the same time and
reflected on your drawings. I have enclosed comments from the Building Department. At this time the
Fire Department has no comments.
Building Department: Allen Johnson at 206 433 -7163 if you have questions regarding the
attached memo.
Please address the attached comments in an itemized format with applicable revised plans,
specifications, and /or other documentation. The City requires that two (2) sets of revised plans,
specifications and /or other documentation be resubmitted with the appropriate revision block.

The Building Division conducted a plan review on the subject permit application. Please address the
following comments in an itemized format with revised plans, specifications and /or other applicable
documentation.
(GENERAL NOTE)
PLAN SUBMITTALS: (Min. size 11x17 to maximum size of 24x36; all sheets shall be the same size).
(If applicable) Structural Drawings and structural calculations sheets shall be original signed wet
stamped, not copied.)
** The building code for this permit shall need some revisions that may affect the number of fixtures for
this permit. Please review the comment below and coordinate with the building plan changes if
necessary.
1. The Plumbing Requirements table on the cover sheet makes reference to building and plumbing code
tables not adopted by Washington State building code council. The current Washington State
Amendments Table 2902.1 for Group "M" uses 200 square feet per occupant to calculate number of
occupants and determine the number of fixtures required. The new mall was constructed under the
current Washington State amendments where the restrooms were calculated to meet current codes.
Therefore a revision of the table shown on the cover sheet shall be revised with the new calculations
to meet current Washington State amendments. Provide calculations in a new table that identify the
total square footage of the mall (minus the anchor buildings) to include both floors. Divide that
number by 200 square feet per occupant to indicate the total occupants. That final number then shall
be divided in half to show the total number of half for male and half for female. From that number
the table will indicate the required fixtures. Show the number of existing public restrooms and
fixtures to determine as to how many fixtures may (or may not) be removed yet still maintain code
requirements for required fixtures. (IBC Table 2902.1 Washington State Amendments)
Should there be questions concerning the above requirements, contact the Building Division at 206 -431-
3670. No further comments at this time.
