Room Sector Switches A selector switch wal be used when one VAV box serves two separate rooms. The selector switch will be mounted on an outside wall as shown on the mechanical plans. The selector switch will have a nameplate describing its function, and each room it serves. The switch will be wired to both of the sensors, then to the VAV box, to give the user the ability to use either sensor for the VAV box function. F. Zone Primary Minimum Airflow The primary minimum airflow required at each zone is the greater of two constraints as follows: Valve minimum position: This is the minimum airflow required for the VAV box to operate correctly. It corresponds with the pressure transducer lower limit of 0.041 wc of 'amplified° velocity pressure across the flow measuring device as determined from data published by the vav box manufacturer. Minimum Outside Air: The minimum quantity of primary air required to properly ventiliate each zone is equal to the zone vent air requirement (vent or vent overide cfrn) divided by the outside air fraction. This value modulates with the economizer damper and ranges between 0.51 (the critical vent ratio) and 1.0 (100% economizer). The BAS shall calculate the outside air fraction every 10 minutes. When OSA temperature is below 24'F (winter design clay temperature) the outside air fraction used to calculate the primary minimums is the winter design critical vent ratio of 0.51 regardless of actual outside air fraction. When OSA temperature is greater than return air temperature, the outside air fraction used to calculate the primary minimums is the summer design critical vent ratio of 0.51 regardless of actual outside -air fraction. Space Static Pressure Control Space static pressure relative to outside will be monitored by both the factory - microprocessor and the BAS and used to control the Statitrac exhaust fan dampers. The BAS sends space static pressure setpoint signcls to the factory microprocessor. A dischorge damper is utilized to increase and decrease airflow as required to maintain the spoce slightly positive (.05' adjustable). The building pressure sensor is located in the first floor office space. 4. Supply Fan Modulation by Criticcl Zone Reset. The BAS system will modulate the supply fan air volume, via inlet guide vanes, to maintain supply air pressure setpoint. Upon startup, the duct static setpoint = 1.0" The BAS system monitors the damper position of all VAV terminal units to determine the AC unit's critical zone (the VAV terminal unit which is the highest percentage open). The goal is to maintain duct static pressure as low as possible at al! times. This is achieved by maintaining the critical zone between 85% and 95% open. Men the critical zone is less than 85% open, the supply fan discharge static pressure resets downward by 0.05' (adjustable), from the previous setpoint, at a frequency of 10 minutes until the critical zone is more than 95% open. When the critical zone is more than 95% open, the supply fan discharge static pressure resets upward by 0.05" (adjustable), from the previous setpoint, at a frequency of 10 minutes until the critical zone is less than 95% open. Tne control bands, setpoint increment values, setpo nt decrement values, and adjustment frequencies will be adjusted to optimize static pressure control for stable system operation. The BAS system will trend log which zone is the critical zone. Des;gn duct static pressure setpoint = 1.0' To satisfy all zones at all times higher duct static may be calculated by this routine. These conditions which cause higher setpoints shouki be investigated and resolved to allow the system to operate at lower pressures. Heating When zone temperature falls below the zone heating setpoint of 70'F the primary air valve will close to its minimum setting. The single stage of heat will cycle on for a duration proportional to the specified 'pulse width'. The proportionality is based on the difference between the zone space temperature and the zone heating setpoint over the deadband range. C. Conference Rooms VAV boxes serving conference rooms with two scheduled vent cfms will have two verlt cfms programmed, 'vent cfm" and 'vent ovaide dm'. (See VAV schedule). The VAV box wiI1 use the 'vent cfm' during low occupancy periods until the timed override button is pushed. Men this button is pushed the VAV box will use its high occupancy 'vent overide cfm" for a two hour period. After this time period, the box will then revert back to its low occupancy mode. The controls contractor will provide and Lnstcll a nomplete that will state 'Push button for full occupancy vent rate' at each sensor. D. CO2 Sensors VAV boxes serving high occupancy zones with CO2 sensors shall have two vent cfms as scheduled. The VAV box will use the scheduled vent cfm" until the CO2 concentration reaches 900 PPM. When the CO2 level exceeds this value, the i'vent overide cfm will be used for a period of 30 minutes. After this period has expired, the vent cfm shall revert back to the scheduled *vent cfm', unless the CO2 level remains above 900 ppm. In this case the above process shall repeat itself.
