HomeMy WebLinkAbout1929-02-07 Regular MinutesThe regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Tukwila was held in the Town Hall on the Above date at 8;00 p. m. Those present were Mayor John R. Walkup and Councilmen S. H. Stevens, J. B. Heemink, G. W. Wallenberg, Philip Koenig and Jos. Ton. The minutes of the last regular meeting were read by the Clerk and were approved as read. BILLS Cureent expense fund B. A. Foreman G. C. Bergquist J. A. Duff Geo. Heyne F. McDonald J. B. Heemink Puget Sound Power Light Co. General bond construction fund J. A. Duff $11.50 The finance committee having approved all the bills presented a motion was duly made, seconded and carried that all the bills be allowed as presented and that warrants be drawn for their respective amounts. COMMUNICATIONS Tukwila, February 7, 1929 2.50 6.25 19.20 8.25 18.00 4.00 42.50 :100.70 The Treasurer's monthly financial report was read by the Clerk and filed by the order of the Mayor. A request from the Pacific Tilephone Telegraph Co. for a permit to construct two manholes along the highway was read by the Clerk. A motion made that the permit be granted was seconded and carried. A proposal of A. Del Guzzo was read by the Clerk. A motion was made and seconded that the proposal be accepted and a contract awarded immediately to A. Del Guzzo. On roll call the motion was lost. Del Guzzo be referred to the Council and that it report back in six days in open meeting its decision to ac- cept or reject the proposal. p. m. APPROVED COMMITTEE REPORTS The chairman of the street committee reported that the snowfall had caused the hills to be very slippery and that he had ordered cinders placed where they would do the most good. The chairman of the street committee was instructed to pro- ceed with any work deemed necessary. Nleetric lights on poles 2, 45, and 46 were reported out. UNFINISHED BUSINESS None NEW BUSINESS Councilman Stevens reported that a sled carrying a boy and a girl had crashed into an automobile at the inter- section of Riverside and Tukwila Avenues with serious injuries to the boy and minor injuries to the girl. He said that he understood that the automobile was occupied by deputy sheriffs of King County in a service known as prowlers. A motion was made, seconded and carried that the Clerk be instructed to write to the Sheriff's office and request an explanation of the autokobile's presence in Tukwila also the details of the accident. A motion to adjourn was passed by the Council at 9:30
