DUCTWORK • PRIMARY SUPPLY AIR TO THE FAN POWERED MIXING BOXES SHALL BE DUCTED VIA SHEETMETAL DUCTWORK FROM THE NEAREST SUFFICIENTLY SIZED DUCT MAINS SERVING THE MAIN SALES FLOOR THAT CAN BE UTILIZE WITHOUT ADVERSELY AFFECTING THE QUANTITY OF AIR DOWNSTREAM OF THE NEW DUCT TAKEOFFS. • THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE THE JCPENNEY PROJECT MANAGER AND THE TEST AND BALANCE CONTRACTOR WITH MECHANICAL DRAWINGS INDICATING THE LOCATION OF THE FAN POWERED BOXES, SUPPLY AIR REGISTERS, RETURN AIR GRILLES, DUCT LAYOUT, NEW DUCTWORK SIZING ALONG WITH THE SIZING OF EXISTING DUCT MAINS INCLUDING THE LOCATION OF THE TIE IN POINTS OF THE NEW DUCTS SERVING THE FAN POWERED MIXING BOXES. • SECONDARY AIR TO THE FAN POWERED MIXING BOXES SHALL BE SUPPLIED THROUGH 24° X 24" WHITE 35' FIXED BLADE GRILLES (TITUS 350 RL) LOCATED IN THE MAIN SALES AREA CEILING 20' - 0" FROM THE SEPHORA AREA AND DUCTED TO THE FAN POWERED MIXING BOXES VIA SHEETMETAL DUCTWORK. • THE CONTRACTOR SHALL FURNISH AND INSTALL SIX NEW 16" x 16" TITUS 300 RS DOUBLE DEFLECTION SUPPLY AIR REGISTERS WITH 24" X 24" TYPE 3 LAY IN PANELS SET AT 22 -1/2 ' DEFLECTION IN ALL 4 DIRECTIONS. PROVIDE AN INSULATED SHEETMETAL PLENUM BOX ABOVE EACH REGISTER. THREE REGISTERS SHALL BE CONNECTED DOWNSTREAM OF EACH FAN POWERED MIXING BOX. SEE TYPICAL LAYOUT FOR LOCATIONS. • FURNISH AND INSTALL SIX NEW 24" X 24" WHITE 35" FIXED BLADE RETURN AIR GRILLES WITH 1" WIDE FRAME (TITUS 350 RL). SEE TYPICAL LAYOUT FOR LOCATIONS. • COORDINATE THE LAYOUT OF THE NEW SUPPLY AIR REGISTERS AND RETURN AIR GRILLES WITH THE LIGHTING, SPRINKLER HEADS AND OTHER CEILING MOUNTED DEVICES. ADJUST THE LOCATION OF THE REGISTERS AND GRILLES AS REQUIRED TO AVOID CONFLICTS. • NEW DUCTWORK SHALL BE OF SHEET METAL CONSTRUCTION SIZED FOR A MAXIMUM .12" OF FRICTION. A MAXIMUM OF 8' -0" OF FLEXIBLE DUCTWORK IS PERMITTED BETWEEN THE SHEETMETAL DUCTWORK AND THE PLENUM BOX LOCATED ABOVE THE SUPPLY AIR REGISTERS. ALL DUCTWORK IS TO BE CONSTRUCTED AND INSTALLED PER SMACNA STANDARDS. • THE CONTRACTOR SHALL FURNISH AND INSTALL BALANCING DAMPERS IN ALL BRANCH DUCT TAKEOFFS TO THE REGISTERS SERVING THE SEPHORA AREA. BALANCING DAMPERS SHALL NOT BE INSTALLED IN THE TAP TO THE FAN POWERED BOX. • THE CONTRACTOR SHALL FURNISH AND INSTALL DOUBLE THICKNESS TURNING VANES IN ALL 90' DUCT ELBOWS. • ALL NEW DUCTWORK IS TO BE PROVIDED WITH EXTERIOR DUCT WRAP, IF THE EXISTING DUCTWORK SERVING THAT FLOOR IS INSULATED. 6. TEST AND BALANCE (TAB) • THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL HIRE THE SERVICES OF A JCPENNEY APPROVED TAB / COMMISSIONING AGENT TO BALANCE AND COMMISSION THE NEW FAN POWERED MIXING BOXES AND REGISTERS SERVING THE SEPHORA AREA. COMMISSIONING AGENT CONTACT INFORMATION IS AS SCHEDULED. • THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE MECHANICAL DRAWINGS TO THE TEST AND BALANCE AGENT PRIOR TO THEIR ARRIVAL AT THE SITE. • THE TAB MUST BE COMPLETED 4 WEEKS PRIOR TO THE OPENING DATE. ALL PUNCHLIST ITEMS MUST BE COMPLETED PRIOR TO THE OPENING DATE. • ALL TAB REPORTS SHALL BE SENT FROM THE TAB TO THE CONTRACTOR AND TO JCPENNEY PROJECT MANAGER, RICHARD MARNIK AT 6501 LEGACY DR., MAIL STOP 2111, PLANO TX 75024. REPORTS MUST BE DELIVERED WITHIN THREE WEEKS AFTER OF THE COMPLETION OF TAB PHASE. 7. ALL FAN POWERED BOXES OR OTHER MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT INSTALLED UNDER THIS SCOPE OF WORK SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH ELECTRICAL POWER THROUGH A NEW DEDICATED UNCONTROLLED POWER CIRCUITS. THIS ALSO INCLUDES 120V POWER TO ANY NEW ENERGY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM DEVICES REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THIS SCOPE OF WORK. NO NEW MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT SHALL BE SERVED OFF EXISTING CIRCUITS ALSO SERVING LIGHTING. 8. ALL NEW EQUIPMENT AND DUCTWORK SHALL BE SUPPORTED FROM STRUCTURAL BUILDING STEEL. SUPPORTING FROM THE DECK ABOVE OR FROM OTHER TRADES IS NOT PERMITTED. STOCK SPACE 1. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL FURNISH AND INSTALL A NEW DUCT AND SUPPLY AIR REGISTER WITH OPPOSED BLADE DAMPER (TITUS 300 RS) IF ONE IS NOT PRESENT WITHIN THE CONFINES OF THE SEPHORA STOCK SPACE SO AS TO MAINTAIN A MAXIMUM SPACE TEMPERATURE OF 78'. 2. IF THE STOCK SPACE IS FULLY ENCLOSED WITH SHEETROCK, THE CONTRACTOR MUST PROVIDE FOR ADEQUATE RETURN AIR OUT OF THE SPACE. 3. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ADJUST THE SETPOINT OF EXISTING UNIT HEATERS OR OTHER TYPE OF EXISTING HEATING DEVICES LOCATED IN THE VICINITY OF THE SEPHORA STOCK SPACE TO 45'. FIRE PROTECTION 1. THE EXISTING SPRINKLER HEAD LAYOUT SHALL BE MODIFIED AS REQUIRED SO TO PROVIDE PROPER COVERAGE / CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS BASED ON THE LAYOUT. OF THE SEPHORA SALES AND PERIMETER FIXTURING.
