These devices shall be separately zoned in the alarm panel and local U.L. central station supervision is required. Smoke detectors shall be labeled by an approved agency for air -duct installation and shall be installed m accordance with the manufacturer's installation instructions. The proposed fan powered terminal unit system will need to comply with section 606.2.2 of the 2009 International Mechanical Code. Please show method of compliance with this section. The method of compliance is section 606.2.2 exception 1. We have shown smoke detectors on the return air of the rooftop units and smoke detectors at the return air on each floor. The fan terminals will turn off if any detector if activated. This smoke detectors are now shown on the drawings. 2. Please show structural connection details for attaching AC -4 and AC -5 to the roof structure. We have included a detail on Mechanical Drawing M -103 and some additional information with this memo. 3. Although the two main HVAC units are included in another permit, this permit will include the rest of the systems. These two systems will require smoke detectors to shut the system down per section 606 MC. These detectors may be included in the shell mechanical permit but testing will most likely be required after the system is complete. The location of the detectors will need to be shown on this permit and it would be OK to reference the shell permit if they are to be installed under that permit. We have shown the location of the smoke detectors in the return air of AC -1 and AC -2 as shown of the Shell and Core drawings. This revision is on M -103. 4.
