1: ** *BUILDING DEPARTMENT CONDITIONS * **
2: No changes shall be made to the approved plans unless approved by the design professional in responsible charge and the
Building Official.
3: All mechanical work shall be inspected and approved under a separate permit issued by the City of Tukwila Permit Center
(206/431- 3670).
4: All permits, inspection records, and approved plans shall be at the job site and available to the inspectors prior to
start of any construction. These documents shall be maintained and made available until final inspection approval is
granted.
5: All construction shall be done in conformance with the approved plans and the requirements of the International
Building Code or International Residential Code, International Mechanical Code, Washington State Energy Code.
6: All plumbing and gas piping work shall be inspected and approved under a separate permit issued by the City of Tukwila
Building Department (206- 431 - 3670).
7: All electrical work shall be inspected and approved under a separate permit issued by the City of Tukwila Building
Department (206- 431 - 3670).
8: VALIDITY OF PERMIT: The issuance or granting of a permit shall not be construed to be a permit for, or an approval of,
any violation of any of the provisions of the building code or of any other ordinances of the City of Tukwila. Permits
presuming to give authority to violate or cancel the provisions of the code or other ordinances of the City of Tukwila
shall not be valid. The issuance of a permit based on construction documents and other data shall not prevent the
Building Official from requiring the correction of errors in the construction documents and other data.
9: ** *FIRE DEPARTMENT CONDITIONS * **
10: The attached set of building plans have been reviewed by the Fire Prevention Bureau and are acceptable with the
following concerns:
11: H.V.A.C. units rated at greater than 2,000 cfm require auto - shutdown devices. These devices shall be separately zoned
in the alarm panel and local U.L. central station supervision is required. (City Ordinance #2051)
12: H.V.A.C. systems supplying air in excess of 2,000 cubic feet per minute to enclosed spaces within buildings shall be
equipped with an automatic shutoff. Automatic shutoff shall be accomplished by interrupting the power source of the
air- moving equipment upon detection of smoke in the main return-air duct served by such equipment. Smoke detectors
shall be labeled by an approved agency for air -duct installation and shall be installed in accordance with the
manufacturer's installation instructions. (IMC 606.1, 606.2.1)
13: Remote indicator lights are required on all above ceiling smoke detectors. (City Ordinance #2051)
14: Duct smoke detectors shall be capable of being reset from a single point near the alarm panel. (City Ordinance #2051)
15: Duct detectors shall send a supervisory signal only upon activation. (City Ordinance #2051)
16: All new fire alarm systems or modifications to existing systems shall have the written approval of The Tukwila Fire
Prevention Bureau. No work shall commence until a fire department permit has been obtained. (City Ordinance #2051) (IFC
104.2)
17: An electrical permit from the City of Tukwila Building Department Permit Center (206- 431 -3670) is required for this
project.
18: Contact The Tukwila Fire Prevention Bureau to witness all required inspections and tests. (City Ordinances #2050 and
#2051)
19: Any overlooked hazardous condition and/or violation of the adopted Fire or Building Codes does not imply approval of
such condition or violation.

to possible revision by the permit center to comply with current fee schedules.
Expiration of plan review — applications for which no permit is issued within 180 days following the date of application shall expire by limitation.
The building official may grant one extension of time for additional periods not to exceed 90 days each. The extension shall be requested in writing
and justifiable cause demonstrated. Section 105.3.2 international building code (current edition).

THE CONTROLLER WILL CONTROL TO MAINTAIN SUPPLY AIR TEMPERATURE AND STATIC PRESSURE TO
THE SPACE CONTINUOUSLY.
SUPPLY AIR DESCRIPTION: EXISTING SUPPLY AIR IS PROVIDED TO THE SPACE FROM THE CENTRAL
PLANT AIR HANDLING EQUIPMENT LOCATED ON THE 3Pc FLOOR. THE EXISTING DUCT MOUNTED FLOW
MEASURING DEVICE WILL MONITOR THE AIRFLOW TO BOTH SDC5201A AND SDC5201B- A NEW FLOW
MEASURING DEVICE WILL MEASURE THE AIRFLOW TO SDC5201B ONLY. 5 NEW ROOM DIFFERENTIAL
PRESSURIZATION SENSORS SHALL AVERAGE THE DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE (BETWEEN THE DATA FLOOR
SPACE AND THE CORRIDOR) AND WILL MODULE THE DAMPERS IN THE SUPPLY DUCTWORK TO MAINTAIN
ROOM DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE SETPOINT. NEW (5) ROOM TEMPERATURE SENSORS WILL BE UTILIZED
TO MODULATE THE RETURN AIR DAMPER FOR SUITE 5201B TO MAINTAIN THE ROOM TEMPERATURE
SETPOINT OF 72°F (ADJ.).
AIRFLOW TO SUITE:
THE EXISTING AND NEW AIRFLOW MONITORING STATION SHALL MONITOR THE SUPPLY AIR FLOW.
ALARMS WILL BE PROVIDED AS FOLLOWS:
• AIRFLOW FAILURE: THE MEASURED AIRFLOW IS BELOW THE ALARM SETPOINT (ADJ.).
SPACE CONDITIONS:
THE CONTROLLER WILL MONITOR THE NEW (5) SPACE TEMPERATURE/ HUMIDITY SENSORS IN THE SUITE.
THE SENSORS ARE WALL MOUNTED SENSORS AND WILL BE INSTALLED AT OWNER DESIGNATED
LOCATIONS.
THE CONTROLLER WILL UTILIZE THE SENSORS BY AN OPERATOR SELECTED METHOD FOR SPACE
CONTROLLER.
MODES:
• AVERAGE OF ALL (5) SENSORS
• HIGHEST TEMPERATURE OF ALL (5) SENSORS
• INDIVIDUAL SENSOR SELECTION (I.E. SENSOR #1, SENSOR #2, ETC.)
IF A SENSOR HAS FAILED (I.E. SENSOR VALUE REFLECTING SENSOR FAILURE), THE CONTROLLER WILL
REMOVE IT FROM THE AVERAGING CALCULATION. IF THE FAILED SENSOR IS BEING UTILIZED FOR SPACE
CONTROL, THE CONTROLLER WILL UTILIZE AN AVERAGE OF THE REMAINING SENSORS.
ALARMS WILL BE PROVIDED AS FOLLOWS:

CORRIDOR. THE CONTROLLER WILL MODULATE THE SUPPLY DAMPER TO MAINTAIN A POSITIVE SPACE
STATIC PRESSURE SETPOINT OF 0.05IN H2O (ADJ. RANGE 0.025' TO 0.10").

RETURN FANS (EXISTING RF -5201A 5201 B. 5201C, AND NEW RF -5201 D):
EACH FAN RUNS CONTINUOUSLY. ONE FAN IS REDUNDANT.
RETURN AIR DESCRIPTION: THE RACK MOUNTED SERVERS IN THE FLOOR SPACE ARE EQUIPPED WITH
PLENUMS THAT ROUTE THE HOTAIR FROM THE SERVER TO THE CEILING PLENUM. DIFFERENTIAL
PRESSURE SENSORS BETWEEN THE ROOM AND CEILING PLENUM WILL MODULATE THE RETURN FAN
VFDS TO MAINTAIN A NEGATIVE PRESSURE SETPOINT OF - 0.01IN H7O (ADJ. RANGE 0.0' TO -0.10').
RUN CONDITIONS
THE CONTROLLER WILL COMMAND THE (4) RETURN FANS TO OPERATE RUN CONTINUOUSLY. UPON A
LOSS OF CONTROL SIGNAL, THE RETURN FAN VFD CONTROLLER WILL CONTINUE TO RUN FAN AT ITS PRE-
SET MINIMUM SPEED. THE CONTROLLER WILL HAVE INDEPENDENT OPERATING MODES FOR EACH FAN
TO ALLOW UNIT SHUTDOWN FOR MAINTENANCE.
RUN MODE:
• EACH RETURN FAN AND ASSOCIATED ISOLATION DAMPER WILL BE STAGED UPON INITIAL START-
UP.
• THE CONTROLLER WILL COMMAND THE RETURN FAN ISOLATION DAMPER TO OPEN.
• AFTER A TIMED DURATION, THE CONTROLLER WILL COMMAND THE RETURN FAN TO RUN.
• THE CONTROLLER WILL MONITOR RUN STATUS OF THE VFD AND DISABLE THE FAN IF STATUS IS
NOT CONFIRMED. THE ISOLATION DAMPER WILL BE CLOSED WHEN THE CONTROLLER DISABLES
THE FAN.
• THE ISOLATION DAMPER WILL OPEN UPON A CONTROLLER FAILURE OR LOSS OF 24VAC POWER.
• THE CONTROLLER WILL SEND THE SAME CONTROL SIGNAL TO EACH OF THE RETURN FAN VFDS
TO MAINTAIN CEILING PLENUM SETPOINT.
SMOKE DETECTORS IN FANS:
A HARDWIRED SMOKE DETECTOR WILL INTERRUPT THE FAN OPERATION UPON DETECTION OF SMOKE IN
THE RETURN DUCT.
PRESSURE SENSORS:
THE CONTROLLER WILL AVERAGE THE (2) NEW CEILING PRESSURE SENSORS FOR CONTROL. IF THERE I5
A LOSS OF ACCEPTABLE PRESSURE READING, THE CONTROLLER WILL REMOVE THE SENSOR FROM THE
CONTROL CALCULATIONS, AND SIGNAL AN ALARM.
