1: ** *BUILDING DEPARTMENT CONDITIONS * **

2: No changes shall be made to the approved plans unless approved by the design professional in responsible charge and the
Building Official.
3: All mechanical work shall be inspected and approved under a separate permit issued by the City of Tukwila Permit Center
(206/431- 3670).
4: All permits, inspection records, and approved plans shall be at the job site and available to the inspectors prior to
start of any construction. These documents shall be maintained and made available until final inspection approval is
granted.
5: All construction shall be done in conformance with the approved plans and the requirements of the International
Building Code or International Residential Code, International Mechanical Code, Washington State Energy Code.
6: Manufacturers installation instructions shall be available on the job site at the time of inspection.
7: Remove all demolition rubble and loose miscellaneous material from lot or parcel of ground, properly cap the sanitary
sewer connections, and properly fill or otherwise protect all basements, cellars, septic tanks, wells, and other
excavations. Final inspection approval will be determined by the building inspector based on satisfactory completion of
this requirement.
8: All plumbing and gas piping work shall be inspected and approved under a separate permit issued by the City of Tukwila
Building Department (206- 431- 3670).
9: All electrical work shall be inspected and approved under a separate permit issued by the City of Tukwila Building
Department (206 -431- 3670).
10: VALIDITY OF PERMIT: The issuance or granting of a permit shall not be construed to be a permit for, or an approval of,
any violation of any of the provisions of the building code or of any other ordinances of the City of Tukwila. Permits
presuming to give authority to violate or cancel the provisions of the code or other ordinances of the City of Tukwila
shall not be valid. The issuance of a permit based on construction documents and other data shall not prevent the
Building Official from requiring the correction of errors in the construction documents and other data.
11: ** *FIRE DEPARTMENT CONDITIONS * **
12: The attached set of building plans have been reviewed by the Fire Prevention Bureau and are acceptable with the
following concerns:
13: H.V.A.C. units rated at greater than 2,000 cfm require auto - shutdown devices. These devices shall be separately zoned
in the alarm panel and local U.L. central station supervision is required. (City Ordinance #2051)
14: H.V.A.C. systems supplying air in excess of 2,000 cubic feet per minute to enclosed spaces within buildings shall be
equipped with an automatic shutoff. Automatic shutoff shall be accomplished by interrupting the power source of the
air- moving equipment upon detection of smoke in the main return-air duct served by such equipment. Smoke detectors
shall be labeled by an approved agency for air -duct installation and shall be installed in accordance with the
manufacturer's installation instructions. (IMC 606.1, 606.2.1)
15: Remote indicator lights are required on all above ceiling smoke detectors. (City Ordinance #2051)
16: Duct smoke detectors shall be capable of being reset from a single point near the alarm panel. (City Ordinance #2051)
17: Duct detectors shall send a supervisory signal only upon activation. (City Ordinance #2051)
18: All new fire alarm systems or modifications to existing systems shall have the written approval of The Tukwila Fire
Prevention Bureau. No work shall commence until a fire department permit has been obtained. (City Ordinance #2051) (IFC
104.2)
19: An electrical permit from the City of Tukwila Building Department Permit Center (206- 431 -3670) is required for this
project.

1. Screws and screw connections have been tested per AISI Standard Test Method TS-4 and TS -5.
2. The tabu ated ASD allowable loads for cold- formed steel (CFS) members are based on the lower of the screw strength or the
strength of the screw in the connected members per 2001 AISI NASPEC & 2004 NASPEC Supplement section E4.
3. The safety factor is based on AISI NASPEC Chapter F for tested connections.
4. The average ultimate values listed are achieved under laboratory conditions and should not be used for design loads.
5. Values are based on cold- formed steel (CFS) members with a minimum yield strength of Fy =33 ksi and tensile strength of
Fu =45 ksi for 43 mil (18 ga) to 33 mil (20 ga), minimum yield strength of Fy =50 ksi and Fu =65 ksi for 54 mils (16 ga) to 97
mill (12 ga), and a minimum yield strength of Fy =36 ksi and Fu =58 ksi for 1/8" and thicker.
6. For design purposes, steel sheet thicknesses are 0.0346" for 33 mil, 0.0451" for 43 mil, 0.0566" for 54 mil, 0.0713" for 68 mil,
and 0.1017" for 97 mil. The actual sheet thickness shall not be less than 95% of these design thickness as specified in
AISI /COS/NASPEC 2001 AISI Standard section A2,4.

our scope of work completed and ready to final for nearly 9 months and have been waiting for Carlisle to have
their fire alarm contractor tie in the smoke detector. I did speak with Rex Corpuz with Carlisle yesterday
regarding this issue. He is in contact with Stanley Security to get this done. We anticipate getting this wrapped
up in the next 3 -4 weeks.

GENERAL NOTES
1. . Installation- Remove /replace existing AC 1 unit with new Carrier AC 1. Install on
new adapter curb. Seismic brace and seal water tight.
2: Duct insulation for curb adapter shall be per code for exterior installation.
3. Outside air intakes shall be min 10' from exhaust discharge from building.
4. Seal all duct work air tight. Duct work seal class and pressure based upon
SMACNA.
5. Provide seismic bracing as required for ductwork and AC 1.
6. Provide smoke detector at AC 1 Return air as requited by code.
7. AC 1 controls integral with unit.
8. Contractor to familiarize himself to all existing conditions prior to starting work.
9. Arrange AC 1 so that access clearances recommended by unit manufacturer are
maintained.
10. Provide statement affirming start-up procedures enacted per section 1416 of the
WA State Energy Code. Provide Permit information and NREC forms.
11. . Ventilation design based on Table 403.3 of 2006 IMC- Required Outdoor Ventilation
