Ana Le, Evie Boykan, Stacy Hansen 1. Regional Fire Authority (RFA) - Moira Bradshaw, DCD Sr. Planner, Tukwila Fire staff Interim Fire Chief, Chris Flores and DCD Sr. Planner, Moira Bradshaw, presented a brief overview on TFD, benefits of regional service, committee to study issues (including cost, still in progress). On -going external communication will occur through; ww.tukwilawa.gov /firecommittee, community out -reach meetings, city publications (ie Tukwila Reporter). 2. Seattle University's work in homelessness - Lisa Gustaveson, MNPL, Program Manager, School of Theology and Ministry Lisa Gustaveson, Program Manager, Faith and Family Homelessness Project (FFHP), Seattle University -Held an RFP for local churches; awarded funds to churches that weren't already involved in homelessness issues. Those funded, the FFHP provided advocacy & program development, congregation education. Data collected: Crime does not go up with organized encampments, often goes down (more eyes on the street), best practices include: partner service provider with congregations, storytelling personalizes the issues and takes away fear- car camping is a best practice, allows congregation to create the protocol for program in their community, congregants are often willing to provide the case management and `walk - alongside' a homeless family, assisting with transition skills that will maintain their housing. Seattle U is willing to provide technical assistance to churches willing to move forward. 3. Member sharing —Clair Chean was introduced as the districts Parent Engagement & Refugee Services Coordinator; IRC will be resettling three Syrian families, 90 individual refugees from Iran, Iraq, Eritrea, Congolese and Somali in SKC.
