State of Service Delivery The Tukwila Fire Department continues to provide fire suppression, rescue, emergency medical, public education, emergency management and fire prevention services. The City and community periodically analyze the Department's future through regular strategic planning that addresses • Operations • Services • Capital Operations Leadership: • A permanent Chief is appointed Staffing: • As call volumes increase and the City continues to build out the Southcenter District and Tukwila Valley South, adopted service levels and /or staffing are adjusted • The types of positions in the Dept. may look different in order to proactively manage demand and meet needs Operations - continued Logistics: • A division or partnership exists for the Department's logistical needs thus supporting operations and allowing firefighters to focus on maintaining response levels and their training responsibilities Services Local: • A proactive Department meets its traditional demands but is also tailored to Tukwila's diverse residents and employment /visitor populations • A resource assistance center may be providing Fire Department public safety services to the community • New and remodeled buildings are built to higher standards that are administered by the Fire Prevention Bureau, thus reducing property loss and eliminating any loss of life due to fire Services - continued Regional - Zone 3 partnerships — continued and new • South King County Training Consortium • Hazardous materials • Special rescue • Non - emergent medical /social assistance • Others ( ?) Capital Stations • 51 is a station relocated to Tukwila Valley South, with an engine and aid car • 52 is a headquarters station, with a ladder truck, engine, and aid car • 53 is a station with an engine; it is remodeled with a potential relocation in its future • 54/47 is a station serving at least two communities, and is constructed in cooperation with SeaTac, and South King County Medic 1.
