HomeMy WebLinkAbout1929-06-06 Regular MinutesThe regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Tukwila was held in the Town Hall on the above data at 8:00 p. m. Those present were Mayor John R. Walkup and Councilmen Philip Koenig, S. H. Stevens, G. W. Wallenberg, J. B. Heemink and Jos.- Ton. The minutes of the special meeting of June 3 were read by the Clerk and were approved as read. A motion that warrants be drawn for the bills presented in their respective amounts was made, seconded and carried. Councilman Stevens requested that it be noted in the minutes that he had not approved the bill for legal services presented by Bruce C. Shorts. The treasurer's monthly financial report was read by the Clerk and was filed by order of the Mayor. A letter from J. D. Blackwell, Town Engineer, relating to the installa— tion of additiona -1 casing at the R. R. tracks and also to the crossing of the State Road, was read by the Clerk. A motion that the Engineer be instructed to have the contractor install an additional 150 feet of casing at the R. R. tracks at an ad— ditional cost of $280.00, to put in concrete anchors necessary at an additional cost of $62.00 and if necessary to put in cas— ing at the State Road crossing at an additional cost of about $300.00, was made, seconded and carried and the Clerk was in— structed to notify the Engineer by mail of the fact. UNFINISHED BUSINESS None It was reported that the place formerly the home of the Gees had been left in a very unsightly and perhaps unsanitary condition. The matter was referred to the committee of health and sanitation, for a report at the next regular meeting. Councilman Stevens said that he believed that it would be necessary to instal a valve at the intake and requested that the Clerk be instructed tm communicate with the Town Engin- eer regarding it. Citizens Taylor, Thompson, Dennis and Radnich appear- ed and requested that they be granted a permit to lay water mains at their own expense on Rainier, Calahan and Berg Avenues. A motion that the request of the citizens be granted was made, seconded and carried. Noother business appearing the Council moved to ad- journ at 9:00 p. m. Approved J.
