PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, the Public Works services provided in our community are an
integral part of the daily lives of our citizens; and
WHEREAS the efficient and effective provision of these services greatl
enhances the health, safety, and welfare of our community; and
WHEREAS, quality and effectiveness in the design and construction of
public facilities and in the provision of public services is vitally dependent on the
knowledge, skills, and dedication of the Public Works staff and officials in the City
of Tukwila; and
WHEREAS, the support of the community and the understanding of the
importance of the work performed by Public Works staff significantly influences
their ability to respond to the needs of the citizens;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Jim Haggerton, Mayor of the City of Tukwila, do
hereby proclaim May 15 through May 21, 2011, with this year's theme "Public Works:
Serving You and Your Communihj," as
National Public Works Week
in the City of Tukwila, and I invite all citizens and civic organizations to acquaint
themselves with the challenges confronted in the provision of Public Works =z�
services in our community and to recognize the daily contributions our Public
Works Department staff make to our health, safety and quality of life.
