HomeMy WebLinkAbout1929-09-16 Special MinutesTukwila, Washington, Sept. 16, 1929 A special meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Tukwila was called in the Town Hall on the above date at 8:00 D. m. for the pur— pose of considering business that was postponed on September 5, be- cause of the death of J. D. Blackwell. Those present were Mayor John R. Walkup and Councilmen Phiokp Koenig, J. C. Wickman, J. B Heemink, S. H. Stevens and Joseph Ton. BILLS Current expense fund: B. A. Foreman 2.50 G. C. Bergquist 6.25 J. A. Duff 10.50 J. Englund 3.00 Puget Sound Power Light Co. 42.5^ Total 564.25 Current water fund: Seattle Water Department T1.05 Trick Murray 6.13 J. A. Duff 14.70 National Meter Co. 50.40 Total 5'142.28 After a brief recess called by the Mayor for the purpose of auditing the bills The chairman of the finance committee reported that all the bills had been approved as presented. A motion that the bills be allowed as presented and that warrants ge drawn for their respective amounts was made, seconded and carried. COMMUNICATIONS The Treasurer's monthly financial report was read by the Clerk and was ordered filed. .A card from Mrs Blackwell acknowledging the flowers sent to the funeral was read. A letter from Mrs. Blackwell thanking the Council for the resolution of condolence was read by the Clerk. A claim from the Crance Co. for material furnished in the construc— tion of the water system was read by the Clerk and was ordered filed. It was moved, seconded and carried that the Clerk order registra- tion books at a price of $6.50. NEW BUSINESS The proposed budget for the year 1930 was read by the Clerk. It was moved, seconded and carried tha t the proposed budget be ac- cepted tentatively and that a hearing be set for the first Monday in October. It was moved, seconded and carried that the council bill relat- ing to the use of water in the Town of Tukwila be taken from the table. It was moved, seconded and carried that the following be added September 16 continued A. Del Guzzo. On roll call the result was as follows: Councilman Koenig not Voting Councilman Stevens aye it Wickman Heemink Ton The Mayor ruled that the votes of those not voting should be counted in the affirmative but that since the representative of the Contractor, A. Del Guzzo, would not bind the contractor to the ac— ceptant of $1175.00 that the Council would not stand bound either. It was moved, seconded and carried that the Clerk order five more Empire meters from the representative of the National Meter Col No further business appearing the Council adjourned at 10:35 p. m.
