Those pre- sent were Mayor John R. Walkup and Councilmen Philip Koenig, J. B. Heemink, and S. H. Stevens. The minutes of the regular meeting of October 3 and of the special meetings of October 7, and October 9, 1929 were read by the Clerk and were approved as read. BILLS Current Expense Fund: B. A. After a brief recess called by the Mayor for the purpose of auditing the bills the Council was called to order by the Mayor. The chairman of the finance committee reported that all the bill ex— cept the bill of W. C. Osman for $5.00 had been approved unanimously. This bill, however, was approved by all the finance committee except councilman Stevens. A motion that the bills be allowed as presented and that warrants be drawn for their respective amounts was made, seconded and carried. Approved COMM'JNICATIU_NS The Treasurer's financial report for the previous month was read by the Clerk and filed by order of the Mayor. OLD BUSINESS None NEW BUSINESS The Mayor announced that a complaint sere ed ry the Puget Well Drilling Co. had been received. It concerned payment for the drill- ing of the test well in the Town back in L926. He said that it would be necessary to retain an attorney to handle the case. A motion that the firm of Shorts Denny be employed to write an opinion of the case and to take up the defense of the case if that should be deemed ad- visable was made, seconded and carried.
