Description of Incident

On the above time and date, a disturbance occurred in the food court /theatre area of
Westfield Mall. During the disturbance, a loud noise occurred which was perceived by
some people in the immediate area to be gunfire. People started to run, and made
claims of shots being fired based on the loud noise and disturbance.
Tukwila Police working at the mall observed this and responded to the area.
Responding officers quickly determined with other witnesses that remained on scene
that there were no shots fired or weapons involved. The individuals that caused the
disturbance were not located.
There were no injuries to bystanders or witnesses. Responding officers on scene
restored order and tried to calm people and provide the information above.
The mall was not evacuated, and is open this evening.
