The following commissioners attended the regularly scheduled meeting of the Tukwila Civil
Service Commission: Steve Wheeler and Bruce Paquette. Others in attendance were Police
Deputy Chief Bruce Linton, Police Records Manager Leon Richardson and Kim Gilman, Civil
Service Examiner.

The Vice -Chair asked if there were any corrections needed
for the December 4th Commission Meeting minutes. No
corrections, were noted.
Per Civil Service Rules', the chair rotated to Stephen
Wheeler, The vice chair, rotated to Bruce Paquette.

Deputy Chief Linton reported that the Police Department is
fully staffed with 77 commissioned officers, with some
open pipeline positions. He noted that the newly hired
Patrol Administrative Assistant position is scheduled to
begin work tomorrow.
Deputy Chief Linton introduced Leon Richardson,
Police Records Manager to those in attendance. Mr.
Richardson explained that the Department plans to re-
allocate the existing Administrative Specialist position to
work in the Special Services division. He noted that the job
description remains substantially the same, with only some
minor edits being made to recognize the work done on

public records requests, and the removal of references to
the Chronic Nuisance Ordinance.
Staffing Update Fire Staff were not in attendance at the meeting. Update
not provided.

Leave of absence, without pay, may be granted by any appointing power to any person under civil service: PROVIDED, That such
appointing power shall give notice of such leave to the commission. All temporary employment caused by leaves of absence shall be
made from the eligible list of the classified civil service.
