HomeMy WebLinkAbout1930-08-07 Regular MinutesTukwila, August 7, 1930 The regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Tukwila was held in the Town Halll on the above date at 8:00 p. m. Those present were Mayor John R. Walkup and Councilmen Philin Koenig, E. F. Greene, J. C. Wickman and B. Baker. The minutes of the last regular meeting were read by the Clerk and were approved as read. BILLS Current expense bund: B. A. Foreman J. M. Hall g4 A Duff Puget Sound Power Light Co. After a brief recess called by the Mayor for the auditing of the bills the Council was called to order to hear the retort of the finance committee. The chairman of the finance committee reported that all the bills ad been approved as presented. A motion that the bills be allowed as recommended by the finance oommittee and warrants drawn for their respective amounts was made, seconded end carried. C0t-;MUNICATIONS The Treasurer's monthly financial report was read b; the Clerk and was ordered filed. The report of the Water Superintendent was read by the Clerk and was ordered filed. It was moved, seconded and carried that the Clerk write the Attorney General regarding the failure of the former treasurer, a. C. Bergquist, to return the 05.09 upon the demand of the Council. CO1,ITTEE P.EFu"T3 The chairman of the water committee announced that he had a palan far reducing the rates to heavy water consumers and introduced an amendment to the water rates, which was read by the Clerk. 0 motion duly made and seconded the amendment was passed unanimously by roll call. Councilman Koenig aye Councilman Lickman aye Greene Baker OLD BUSINESS roNE August 7, 1930 continued NEW BUSINESS The matter of widening Maule Avenue was referred to Lhe Street and Alley Committee. The Clerk was instructed to communicate with the Puget Sound Electric R. R. Y'egarding the cutting of the weeds on their right -of -way. Mr. Kunz u_ petared and made a com- plaint relative to paying a double water rate for himself and his tenant. The matter was referred to the vrater superintendent. p. m.
