HomeMy WebLinkAbout1930-11-06 Regular MinutesTukwila., November 6, 1930 The regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Tuk- wila was held in the Town Hall on the above date at 8:00 p. m. Those present were Mayor John R. Walkup and Councilmen Philip Koenig, J. C. Wickman, E. F. Greene and B. E. Baker. The minutes of the last regular meeting of October 2, and of the special meeting of October 6th were read and upon approval were ordered filed. BILLS Current expense fund B. A. Foreman J. M. Hall J. Duff 20.10 After a brief recess called by order of the Mayor for the auditing of the bills, the Council was called to ordet to hear the report of the finance committee. The chairman of the finance committee reported that the claim of the Puget Sound Power light Go. had been reduced from $42.50 to 37.50 due to the failure of the company to replace broken light bulbs until ten days after notification and that all other bills had been'. approved as Pre- sented. It was moved, seconded and carried that the bills be pass- ed as recomme,ded by the finance committee and that warrants be drawn for their respective ?montts. The Treasurer's monthly financial report was read by the Clerk. It was filed upon approval. The water superint report was read by the Clerk. The superintendent was instructed to ascertain the cost of valve boxes. In a discussion of delinquent water bills the Council went on record as recommending three months as the limit except in rare cases of hardship or emergency. It was moved, seconded and carried that the Council bill pro posing to grant a franchise to the Seattle Gas Co. be placed on L November 6th 1930 cont. NEW BUNINESS its final grading and passage. The ordinance was read by the C1ekk and was passed unanimously on roll call becolging ordinance No. 131. Councilman Greene was appointed by the Mayor to in- vestigate fire fighting equipment.
