a. Book Sale moved to Friends agenda
b. Autumn Harvest Carnival — Great event. TLAB funded a storyteller and giveaways.
c. Project Feast's Open House's Big Read — October 9"' — Great turnout and wonderful
food.
d. Review of 2015 budget — Marie mentioned how good the senior programs dealing
with aging and Altzheimer's issues were. Some budgeted items were not needed
which allowed more money to be allocated for literacy related items for the Spirit of
Giving event.
e. 2016 Budget — Marie brought up using TLAB funds for more Altzheimer's programs
for the senior program. A fter discussion, Marie made a motion to fund 2 programs
in the first quarter of 2016. Linda seconded. After discussion, the motion passed.
KCLS - Big Read is wrapping up. The last event will be a Book -It production of "The
Beautiful Things That Heaven Bears" on November 13"' at the Highline
Performing Center. Over 80 people attended the author event with a book
signing and food.The project helped to develop deeper conversations
between library patrons and other participants.
There are new librarians in an elementary, the middle school and the high
school in the school district. Library staff members are working closely with
them to develop relationships and bring activities into the schools.
Next year's theme will be "Everybody's Talking About It" dealing with trending
topics.
