Minutes
Attendance: Linda McLeod, Steve Miller, Marie Parrish, Shannon Fisher, Angie Benedetti,
Scott Kruize
Call to Order: 7:05 by Marie Parrish
Approval of Minutes: None to approve.
Citizen Comments:
Scott Kruize is one of two applicants to the vacant position onTukwila Library Advisory
Board. He introduced himself and discussed his interest in the position. Attendees
introduced themselves as well.
Business
a. Board candidate applications — moved to end of agenda
b. Dr. Seuss Night — Shannon said it went well but for some reason attendance was
down this year for some reason. Linda enjoyed participating but noted the lower
attendance as well.
c. Backyard Wildlife Festival — May 141h— Discussion was held on whether or not the
Board would participate this year as in the past. Angie noted the Library to Go Van
might be available. Discussion will continue next month.
KCLS Update —Angie discussed the progress on the new library. She hopes to update us on
the progress of the art piece soon. Because of weather, the opening date is projected
to be in the last quarter of 2016 rather that 3rd quarter. Angie said that KCLS has not
yet replaced Darth which means that she is stretched to cover his duties as well as
hers with the help of her team.
Board candidates - Scott Kruize was thanked for attending. After he left, the Board reviewed
both applications. It was decided that Steve Miller would represent the Board on an
interview committee with Angie Benedetti representing KCLS and Shannon Fisher from
Parks and Recreation.
Officers — It was decided to wait until we have a full board in attendance to elect new officers.
Adjournment: Linda moved to adjourn, Steve seconded the motion and the motion passed.
