The minutes of the last regular meeting and the minutes ofthe
special meeting of January 13, were read by the clerk and approved.

After a brief recess called by the Mayor for the auditing of the
bills, the Council was called to order to hear the report of the
Finance Committee. The Chairman of the Finance Committee reported
that all bills had been approved as pss$snted. A motion that all
bills be a1Iu d as recommended by the Finance Committee and warrants
drawn for their reppeetive amounts was made, seconded and Carried.

The Treasurer's monthly financial report was read by the Clerk
and ordered filed. The report of the Water Supt. was r:-;;id by the
Clerk. A letter from Clinton Hartson, Town Attoaney,relttkve to
appropriations at special meetings was read by the clerk. A letter
from Clinton Hartson stating that the case of Puget Well Drilling
Co. vs. The Town of Tukwila had been compromised and settled. was
read by the Clerk. A letter was read by the Clerk received form
the General Claim Agent of the Union Pacific System regarding payment
for breakage to the Town water main. after a brief discussion it was
moved seconded and carried that the Nine Dollar check recieved by
the Town from the Union Pacific Sys em to cower labor repairing
breakage be turned over to J. P. Walkup as payment for servicesrendered
A letter from the State Of Washington, Dept. of Highways stating
the claim of the Town of Tukwila against Frank J. McHugh would not
be allowed, was read by the clerk. A statement of services of Shorts
and Denny in the case of Puget Well Drilling Co. vs. the Town of Tukwila
was also read by the clerk.
The question of the contract relative to the needing of !alit
portion of Main Street east of the Interuban Rail Way to Town
of Tuukfflila by Mr, H. 0. Blankenship as discussed to so length.
Mr. B1 nkensh' p stated that under t he contract with the Town ins
prperty(Lmt 1) was to be exempt from all L.I.D. Taxes
February, 5 1931. continued.
A motion was made, seconded and carried instructing the Fin-
ance committee to get legal advice tftnecessary regarding the
H. 0' Blankenship deed and contract, and to submit a report in
writing to the Town Council regarding same at the next regular meet&
ing.
The question of Taxes was discussed A motion was made
seconded and carried that a meeting be called not later than Wed-
nesday Feb. 11. to discuss the matter of increased Taxes. The mayor
to act as chairman and the Town Clerk to act (as clerk. The Mayor
appointed Councilmen Green, Baker, and Wickman to arrange for the
use of the Ladies Improvement Club Hall for the meeting.
The clerk was instructed to investigate taxes on Lot 20.
No other business appearing the Counoil was adjourned at 9.50
P. M.
