At approximately 1:50 am this morning, the Tukwila Fire Department was dispatched to
an Automatic Fire Alarm at a restaurant in the 5900 block of South 180th Street. Upon
arrival, crews found smoke inside, and upgraded the incident to a commercial fire. A
"Commercial Fire" dispatches a total of four fire engines, one ladder truck, and our
Battalion Chief. Units from Renton Fire Department assisted us at the fire.
Crews quickly found the source of the smoke in the kitchen area. They did an excellent
quick attack on the small fire and were able to prevent it from spreading to the rest of
the building.
No one was in the restaurant at the time of the fire. No injuries occurred with fire
fighters or civilians.
Fire investigators are still on scene investigating. At this time we do not know the cause
of the fire. The dollar loss is expected to be over $50,000.
