Description of Incident
At 10:24 pm on August 3, 2016, the Tukwila Fire Department was dispatched to a
residential fire in the 4800 Block of South 150th Street. Upon arrival crews found
heavy smoke and flames showing on the exterior of the structure. The house was
occupied at the time of the fire. All residents escaped and were safe and accounted for
when crews arrived.
First arriving fire units did an excellent job in sizing up the fire and initiating an
aggressive attack on the fire. The fire did spread into the attic space. The alarm was
quickly upgraded to a working fire which brought additional units to the scene.
The Tukwila Fire Department received mutual aid from our neighboring departments,
including North Highline Fire, Kent Regional Fire Authority, South King County Medic
One and Zone 3 Rehab.
Units are still on the scene putting out small hotspots and assisting our investigators,
who are also on scene, trying to determine the cause of the fire. No cause has been
determined yet.
No injuries to the occupants or firefighters were reported.
The family is receiving assistance from family and friends at this time to relocate until
the house can be reoccupied.
