Just before 3:30 pm this afternoon, Tukwila Fire Department was dispatched to a brush
fire in the 13300 block of Southbound Hwy 599. While responding to the fire, they were
informed there were multiple fires along the freeway in the same area. Additional
apparatus were then dispatched.
The call went to two alarms. Firefighters came from Kent Regional Fire, Renton Fire,
North Highline Fire, Boeing Fire, King County Fire District 20, King County Fire District
44 Hand Team, South King County Paramedics and Zone 3 Rehab.
Cause of the fire is still unknown. Tukwila Fire Investigators are working with
Washington State Patrol in the investigation.
No injuries to firefighters nor civilians were reported.
