Ocean 432A dries to a smooth, flat, transparent finish without altering. original grain. or color of the combustible substrate. 432A can be tinted with Manufacturer's approved universal colorants to match certain wood tones; however, the colorants may not exceed 2 ounces per gallon. Areas subject to constant scuffing and handling, such as doors, door frames, and wains- coating, must be protected with a coat of Ocean 433 Semi -Gloss or Satin Overcoat. The 433 Overcoat gives added durability, cleansability, and increased moisture resistance. The washing or scrubbing of 432A/433 must be followed by dry wiping. Do not use ..432A/433 on floors, furniture, or where it will be exposed to standing water. Ocean 432A is an intumescent -type coating which, when exposed to flame, puffs to form a thick insulating crust. The crust retards the penetration of heat to the under - surface of combustible substrate. Ocean 432A is a viscous coating which has a shelf " life of one year. However, extremely high temperatures over prolonged periods should be avoided. APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: • SURFACE PREPARATION - All surfaces must be dry and free of all grease, wax, oil, and other foreign matter. Previously finished areas must be thoroughly cleaned and /or sanded to obtain good adhesion. NEW SURFACES - Sand smooth, and remove dust. All surfaces must be completely sealed before applying 432A. Seal with a uniform coat of Ocean 431 -or clear shellac, not less than a 2 lb. cut. An adequately sealed surface will have a uniform angular sheen. All filled and/or stained areas must be sealed before applying 432A to prevent bleed - through. PREVIOUSLY COATED.SURFACES - Sand or chemically roughen all loose coatings, wash with Ocean 432A Thinner to remove grease, wax, oil, or other foreign matter and allow to dry thoroughly. Seal as with new surfaces. To determine adhesion and compatibility, test patch a small area. s1 METHOD OF APPLICATION -.Stir well before using. Ocean 432A should be sprayed for best results. If,brush applied, use only soft, natural bristle brushes in light, even strokes and avoid excessive brush -out. If thinning is necessary, use only Ocean 432A Thinner and not more than 1/2 pint per gallon. Apply 2 coats of Ocean 432A at 300 square feet per gallon, per coat. Net coverage should not exceed 150 square feet per gallon in 2 coats. 432A Varnish sets dust -free in 4 -6 hours but 24 hours dry time is recommended between coats. Allow 432A to dry 24 hours before overcoating. Do not . apply when relative humidity is exceptionally. high. Information provided herein is bawd on leas believed to be reliable. SOUND TEST DATA AND RESULTS Sound Absorption coefficient Test Method ANSI/ASTM C423 -77 .95 N.R.C. Any office needs good acoustical control. One major contributing factor to proper acoustics and speech privacy is the elimination of unwanted noise reflected off hard vertical surfaces. Sound Sorbic® acoustical panels are designed to easily mount on fixed interior partitions, columns, ex- terior walls, as well as metal file units. Sound Sor- bic® panels absorb up to 95% of the sound energy that strikes them. The result is a noticeable reduc- tion of reflected noise in an open office. Sound Sorbic® panels are available with a wide range of colors in two distinctive fabric textures. They also have a recessed reveal edge on all four sides to help conceal uneven wall surfaces. Sound Sorbic® panels may be applied in combinations of standard sizes, colors, and angles to provide attractive graphic displays as well as good acous- tical control. 10 • Sound Sorbic® panels are constructed with con- cealed rigid metal frames and cross bracing. Interior layers of fiberglass covered by fire resistant fabric result in attractive units with excellent acous- tical absorption. The use of flame resistant ma- terials minimizes fire hazard characteristics. CRITICAL AREA FOR CONTROL OF REFLECTED NOISE FLOOR LINE The critical area of acoustical reflection • is approximately 4' -0" high vertically from 2' -0 ". :off the floor to 6' -0" off the floor,. Reflected sound below, this area is generally diffused by furniture, screens and carpet. The ceiling usually controls the reflection of sound above the .6' -0 ". height. Wall System That Cuts On -site Labor to the Minimum. HIGHLANDER Wall System is the cost effective method of providing an office wall system. It is installed quickly and can be easily relocated to suit new tenant requirements. On the basis of first cost or over the life of the building, the HIGHLANDER System is the economical choice. 2 Labor Savings: Cost savings begin during the initial installation. The HIGHLANDER System offers considerable labor savings over painted drywall because the time required for taping, spackling, painting and drying is eliminated. And because of its easy assembly and fewer parts, it goes up faster than other wall systems. Low Maintenance: The only maintenance required for a vinyl clad HIGHLANDER wall is an occasional cleaning with a damp cloth and mild detergent. The regular repairing, masking and painting associated with painted drywall is eliminated. Lifelong Durability: The tough vinyl covering on HIGHLANDER walls resists punctures and tears and contributes to the long term cost savings. HIGHLANDER resists moisture, staining and scuffing and retains its attractive appearance longer. Flexibility Ease: Substantial cost savings over drywall partitions build up with each office move. The simple design of HIGHLANDER Wall System allows it to be relocated easily to meet new tenants' demands. And modifications to existing offices such as electrical outlet changes, additional insulation needs and even door or glazing relocations are done quickly. Parts Reusability: When reasonable care is taken during disassembly of the HIGHLANDER Wall System, between 80% and 95% of the parts can be reused. Much depends on the extent of the change (various wall dimensions, styles, etc.), but the snap - together assembly of HIGHLANDER components makes it easy to relocate. Earlier Occupancy: The fast and easy instal- lation of the HIGHLANDER System means earlier tenant occupancy. It's erected in about half the time of painted drywall. And fast rearrangement of office walls means new tenants can be in their new office in a matter of days. HIGHLANDER Is a trademark of Donn Incorporated • • HIGHLANDER Wall System Gets The Job Done Faster The simplicity of the HIGHLANDER design allows it to be erected much faster than standard painted drywall. Drywall requires twelve separate steps plus drying. With drywall, it often takes 3 to 4 days to complete a single office. The HIGHLANDER System goes up in six simple steps and requires only two subcon- tracting crews — carpenters and electricians. Drywall requires four crews — carpenters, electricians, drywall finishers and painters. All this means you'll save time and money with HIGHLANDER System because it's less labor intensive. The job is done faster so tenants can move in quicker. DONN CORPORATION HIGHLANDER 1. Install ceiling and floor track. 2. Install intermediate studs. 3. Install rough door and window frames. 4. HIGHLANDER is a non -load bearing, vinyl clad gypsum wall system which is progressively erected and demounted. It utilizes steel stud and track components for strength. Wall Panels HIGHLANDER Wall Systems utilize 5/8" thick gypsum board wall panels in 48" width. (24" and 30" are also available) Panels are clad with a durable vinyl material in a number of colors, textures and patterns. Unpainted gypsum board HIGHLANDER Wall System panels are option- ally available to be painted on the job site. System Components Steel floor and ceiling tracks make up the office perimeter and provide for positioning of the wall panels. The wall is erected by pro- gressively mounting panels on each side of the wall in a sequential fashion. The result is a solid wall system with tight- fitting panels offering smooth and even wall panel joints uninter- rupted by battens. Trim Members The finishing touch is the application of metal trim members around door frames, glazing, head, base and corners. Vinyl base trim is optionally available. Contemporary, square -edge trim affords a finished appearance and the look of quality. Trim is simply snapped into place for added time savings.
