SPECIAL INSPECTIONS REQUIRED
Section 305 of the Uniform Building Code requires that a building
owner or his agent, employ a special inspector, approved by the Build-
ing Official, for the following types of work:
1. CONCRETE: When 'the design is based on an "f ". in excess of
2,000 pounds.
2. MASONRY: On all grouted masonry and reinforcement, and as
otherwise required in Chapter 24:
3. WELDING: On all structural welding.
4. GYPSUM CONCRETE: When cast -in -place reinforced gypsum concrete.'is
being mixed or. deposited.
5. SPECIAL CASES: On special construction work involving unusual
hazards or requiring constant inspection.
On connection of the walls to the roof diaphragm
for tilt -up type construction.
The special inspector shall furnish continuous inspection and shall
be
present at all times during the construction requiring his employment.-
He shall report to the Building Official in writing, noting all Code :vio
lations and other Information as required
The employment of an approved testing laboratory or inspection
agency to perform the . above -work will satisfy the requirement that the;;:
special inspector be approved by the Building Official.:..
