Tests were conducted by Ramtech Laboratories, Inc. using the air bag method. The panel sizes tested were 4' x 10' and 4' x 5'. The panels were secured as in a typical field application, (see Figure 1,2 and 3 on other side) using a 6 "x '/4" FRP Wide Flange Beam backed by 3" x 1/4" FRP Angle bolted to the web creating a track for the panels. The 10' panels were tested up to 114 psf without panel failure. The 114 psf is equal to over a 200 mph basic windload. By modifying some connections, the panel could withstand even higher loads, if needed. The 5' panels were tested up to 306 psf without panel failure. The 306 psi is in excess of a 200 mph basic windload. By modifying some connections, the panel could withstand even higher loads, if needed. Loading limits on panel lengths between the 5' and 10' panels tested can be interpolated from these results. Please see listed below a brief synopsis of our conversation on Thursday June 28th Per our discussion and support documentation we assert that the Stealth Screening Panels specified for this project should be approved for the following reasons: • Tukwila zoning ordinances mandate that any placement of PCS antenna on the Courtyard Marriott building be screened with material that matches the finish of the existing exterior facade. • Per RF Engineering requirements, the only viable screening material that meets both RP Engineering objectives and aesthetic screening objectives is manufactured by Stealth Network Technologies. • The manner in which the screening panels attach to the building is through a completely noncombustible steel frame work that elevates the panels away from the building, and that the actual panels themselves do not come in contact with any portion of the building. • Due to the transmitting and receiving characteristics of the PCS antenna, noncombustible screening materials will dramatically interfere with the radio frequency transmission process thus rendering the site incapable of performing it's function. • The location of the screening panels on the north penthouse does not effect, or place in jeopardy the life, safety, health or welfare of the occupants. • Sprint will install the highest fire resistance panels that Stealth Networks manufactures with an additional stucco finish (similar to the stucco finish on the existing EFIS panels currently installed on the building), which will increase the fire receptivity of the panels. The panels have a flame spread rating of 40.
