The Project Work is summarized and may not include specific reference to all incidental work elements required to complete the contract. B. Accomplish all work described in the Contract Documents (Plans and specifications) for the General Construction Contract known as Cascade View Park -Phase 1 Building demolition and site preparation, The Project Work includes, but is not limited to all work associated with the following tasks: 1. Malailizatianmillansibilizaigni Deliver, store, and remove all equipment, material and personnel necessary for demolition and construction activities. 2. Pre- demolition site preparation Prior to actual demolition. prepare for site construction activity with installation of 1200 linear feet of tree protection and project boundary fencing, , placement of erosion control measures including up to 800 linear feet of silt fence, and other prepatory activities. 3, Demolition: Remove and dispose of seven residential structures, their accessory structures, service utilities and related site improvements. Work includes removal and disposal of one known and potentially six more unfound septic tanks and systems, and one aboveground heating oil tank and an associated area of contaminated soil. All man -made structures and materials, landscape and native vegetation and natural materials not to remain will be removed and disposed of offsite by contractor. The contractor shall perform their work to keep from contaminating of the existing topsoil with building debris in an effort to save for reuse for the future park. Work includes demolition and removal of building materials, which may contain less than a 1 -% aggregate of asbestos containing material, The contractor shalt inform their work force of the presence of the material and meet the requirement in handling the material as part of the general building debris. Included in Appendix D is the "Good faith inspection reports" of all material known to contain asbestos. Work includes the "whole" tree structure salvage of up to 12 trees, transport to an off site salmon habitat enhancement project and unloading. See appendix C for location. A general City of Tukwila hauling permit will be required for the demolition and mass grading work and a special "over size" permit will be required to transport the "whole" tree. See appendix E for sample hauling permit and process steps. 4. Site clearing. grading_attd topsoi salvage After all the man -made structure demolition work has been completed and the site approved for further earthwork, the contractor will remove all organic material and salvage remaining topsoil were depicted on the drawings. Strip remaining topsoil to 1 ft over all depth and transport to onsite stock pile area. Excavate and remove subsoil to depth indicated on grading plan. With rough grading complete and approved for final grading, grade disturbed soil areas to a uniform slope matching existing grades without depressions. 5. Site Restoration After approval of all disturbed areas by engineer all areas shall be hydroseeded. All erosion control measures, sediment fences and tree protection fences will remain in place until the hydroseeding has been established, 1.02 CONTRACTS, CODES AND ORDINANCES A. There will be one contract for the Project, which includes the Work, described in the project manual and drawings. B. The Contractor shall provide all items, articles, materials, operations or methods listed, noted or scheduled on the drawings and/or herein, including all labor, equipment and incidentals necessary and required for proper and timely completion of the Work. C. Contractor shall use new materials unless specifically noted or directed. D. If conflicts occur between legally adopted codes and the contract documents, the codes prevail, except that this shall not be construed as relieving the contractor from complying with the requirements of the contract documents which may be in excess of the code requirements and not contrary to same. 1.03 CONTRACTOR PERSONNEL SECTION 010101 SUMMARY OF WORK The Contractor shall employ only fit and skilled persons and maintain proper order at the place of work and shall maintain the project site as a safe and secure work place conforming to all applicable codes and regulations. 1.04 USE OF DOCUMENTS Technical Specifications are enumerated in the table of contents of the project manual. Numbering of sections is for identification only and may not be consecutive. Contractor shall check his/her copies of the specifications with table of contents to verify that they are complete. Notify the Engineer of incomplete copies. 1.05 CONTRACTOR'S USE OF PREMISES A. Contractor shall limit his/her use of the premises for work and for storage related to the project and in a manner, which allows for, Owner's use and access. B. Coordinate use of the premises under the direction of the Engineer. C. Move any stored products, under the Contractor's control, which interferes with operations of the Engineer at the Engineer's request. 1.06 NUMBER OF SPECIFIED ITEMS REQUIRED Wherever in these specifications an article, devise or piece of equipment is referred to in the singular number, such reference applies to all and as many articles as are indicated or required to complete the installation. The number of unit bid items on the unit bid schedule may not reflect the quantities of work depicted in the drawings. For purposes of this contract and for estimating the bid, the estimated quantities in the unit price schedule shall prevail. 1.07 ORGANIZATION AND FORMAT OF SPECIFICATIONS A. Organization; Division Section and paragraph numbers, as listed in the table of contents of the project manual and the items of work included under the headings generally conform with "Masterformat" of thegoattracjimOggilkathig ,institute. Numbering of paragraphs and sections is merely for convenience and identification and may not be consecutive; the Contractor shall check his/her copies of the contract documents with the project manual table of contents and the page numbering as well as the list of drawings to be sure that they are complete. Trade headings are used in the specifications for convenience only. The Engineer is not bound to define the limits of any subcontractors. 01010 -3 l SECTION 01010 SUMMARY OF WORK Format: These specifications are of the abbreviated or "stream- lined" type and frequently include incomplete sentences. Word such as "shall," "shall be," "the Contractor shall" and similar mandatory phrases shall be supplied by inference in the same manner as they are in a note on the drawings. Phrases following a heading for material or item of equipment and listing required features or characteristics of the item shall be construed as meaning, "The item shall be...," or "The item shall include...," and the Contractor shall provide all items, articles, materials and operations listed, including all labor, materials, equipment and incidentals required for satisfactory installation and completion of the Work. 1.08 ADDITIONAL DEFINITIONS The following additional terms are used in the contract documents and are defined as follows: A. The terms "approved and "for approval" mean "approved by the Engineer" and "for the Engineer's approval." B. Where the terms "or approved" or "or approved equal" are used, the Engineer is the sole judge of the quality and suitability of the proposed substitution. C. The term "coordinate" means, "satisfactorily combine the work of all trades for a complete and operating installation." D. The term "directed" means "as directed by the Engineer." E. The term "indicated" means "indicated or noted on the drawings." F. The term "provide" means "furnish and install." G. The term "requested" means "as requested by the Engineer." H. The term "selected" means "selected by the Engineer" and is not necessarily limited to a manufacturer's standard line of colors, finishes or details. I.
