JONES C0NS1RUCTIDN To: City of Tukwila Building Department 6300 Southcenter blvd., # 100 Tukwila, WA 98188 Re: Reroofing Of Existing Wnretiouse Space a lntergate Gast business Complex This is to further clarify the scope of work involved with reroofing the existing warehouse space at Sabey Corporation's lntergate bast business Complex, with mailing address 3343 - 120`" Place South, Tukwila, WA. The existing (and original) roofing on the space is to, be removed complete, including all associated , (lashings and copings. A new Firestone 60 Mil 'I'PO White Membrane Roofing with 2 layers of'2.1" polyisocynurate insulation to achieve an R 30 thermal value is to be installed in lieu. The new roofing work will include constructing new parapet at east and west sides of the warehouse space, including all associated blocking, flashing, copings and sealants. The new roofing will be appropriately flashed/sealed at north and south sides of the space to adjacent areas of the overall warehouse complex, which have recently been reroofed themselves (with the same type roofing system), in order to ensure a weathertight condition and obtain applicable roofing manufacturer warranty. In addition to removing the existing roofing, sixteen (16) existing smoke vents with doors installed horizontally in the existing roof structure are to be removed and the openings blanked off with plywood as shown on the design documents. Existing thermal bait insulation beneath the existing roof structure is to be removed, along with a large number of high bay light fixtures and conduit /circuitry, several gas -fired unit heaters and service piping /vent stacks, complete wet sprinkler distribution system, an active 8" insulated domestic water line (to be lowered), and miscellaneous other mechanical /electrical components, all suspended from the warehouse space's existing wood roof structure. The only new loads being applied to the roof structure with exception of the new roofing are nine (9) new small lightweight exhaust fans, each weighing less than 75 lbs. There will RECr,vi- CITI' l .. u pi:pr f ( f11ER not be any other mechanical or electrical equipment installed on this warehouse space's roof as a part of the overall tenant improvements to be performed by TyCom, Inc. The total cost of this reroofing work is approximately $195,000.00, including removal and offsite disposal of the existing roofing and related components, construction of the new parapets, and complete installation of the new roofing system.
