A variety of materials are available for application in new construction, re- roofing and re -cover of all types of buildings from industrial and commercial to institutional, apartments and condominiums. All roofs fail eventually- -it's just a question of "how soon ?" Wind, rain, snow, Ice, and worst of all the sun, will all take their toll. Exposure 10 UV and heat will "dry out" most roofs In time. However, a quality roof will provide many extra years of service before It needs replacement. As an architect, consultant or building owner, it makes good sense to specify and have roofing systems installed which are "cost effective" and will not fall before their time. core reinforcement. The APP modifier supplements the bitumen's natural waterproofing qualities, improving its tensile properties, flexibility, capacity for stretch and recovery as well as resistance to ultraviolet rays, heat and fatigue. Polyester reinforcements usually consist of non -woven mats that withstand high and low temperatures and provide excellent resistance to moisture, puncture and aging. Furthermore, polyesters provides excellent elongation and flexibility properties as well as being easily formed to various configurations. POLYOLAU1 also offers S8S (Styrene Butadiene Styrene) and asphaltic TPO (Thermoplastic Olefin) modified systems, for self - adhered, hot asphalt or cold adhesive application. MODIFIED BITUMEN ROOFING SYSTEMS The complete system, depending on the POLYOLASE. specification, Includes a base membrane and the finish membrane. The end result is a roof that provides the toughest, most reliable protection on the market today. POLYOLA$L roofing membranes exceed international standards for weatherproofing, waterproofing and maintenance. POP/GLASS, Modified Bitumens have a proven record in countless installations ranging from baking deserts to subarctic climates. POLYOLA IL manufactures membranes of modified bitumen (asphalt), typically combining a tough polyester, glass or a dual layer of the two. The membranes are formulated by blending selected atactic polypropylene (APP) resins, inert fillers, and asphalt, combined with the HIGH PERFORMANCE ROOFING SYSTEMS MODIFIED MAIM SYSTEMS POLYGLASS - ALUE ADDED For a virtually maintenance -free membrane and a generally aesthetic finish, POLYOLASS, "POLY/LII XX 0" and "DU /LIX O" are available with granules in a variety of colors, including the following: White, Grey, Black, Buff, Red, Brown, Green and new Weatherwoodl • "(POLY /LI, DA" has an attractive, superfine ceramic particle topping which is skid resistant, and adds extra UV resistance without the need for additional coatings, If a coating Is used it can be applied immediately without having to wait for the membrane to weather. "POLY /LUX. DI O" Is available with a coarse BLACK ceramic granule surface. POLYOLASS„ "POLYRAM„" offers an attractive surfacing of embossed copper foil. The product Is reinforced with the strongest, most stable glass fiber scrim available. Special soft melt asphaltic coating Is applied to the underside of tho foil. This combines with our manufacturing technology and compounding to ensure both excellent adhesion between the waterproofing membrane and the laminate, while providing for differential expansion and contraction. Besides aesthetic relevance, the copper foil shelters the bituminous compound from weathering and normal UV aging. POLYOLASS4 "POLYALI,;." Is manufactured with an aluminum foil weathering surface adhered to the membrane during the production cycle. in the same configuration as POLYRAMa. FAST, CLEAN, EFFICIENT INSTALLATION Prior to installation, your professional roofing contractor will inspect the roof to determine its condition. The contractor may have to remove the old roof down to the original deck and, where necessary, make repairs to restore deck integrity. increased insulation may be added and possibly the recommendation made to increase the roof slope or install extra drains to ensure proper drainage. installation can be completed quickly and cleanly at almost any time of the year. POLYOLA184 membranes may be fastened to your deck using one of several techniques. Seams overlap and are welded for maximum watertight security. New fleshings are applied and sealed around pipes, drains, edges, and other structures. POLYOLASS,, roofing systems are fully adhered or mechanically fastened, meaning that the membrane offers excellent wind resistance, without the use of heavy, costly and often troublesome gravel ballast.
