Observations were made for any possible dam- age or leakage. The test was conducted at temperatures or 73.4'F, -40'F anti 122'F. Results: The samples tested withstood the test conditions without leakage, rupture or other evidence of damage. Vacuum Test The pipes and fittings employed In the leakage test were subjected to an internal vacuum of 11.1" of mercury for a period of 5 minutes. The test was conducted at 73.4°F, Results: The sample pipes and fittings withstood the applied vacuum without collapse. Hydrostatic Strength Test The pipe and fittings employed in the leakage teat were subjected to a slowly Increasing hydrostatic pressure of five times (1250 pal) the maximum rated pressure (250 psi) and held for one minute. Results: The sample pipes and fittings withstood the applied pres- sure without leakage, rupture or other evidence of damage, Low Temperature Bending Strength Test Representative samples of pipe of both sizes, 1 meter long, were conditioned at • 40'F for 24 hours, and then wrapped around mandrels having diameters equal to ten times the IDs of the primary piping. The samples were then subjected to leakage, hydrostatic and vacuum teats. Results: The sample pipes withstood all the test conditions without leakage, rupture or other evidence of damage. Pull Strength Test Two samples of all sizes of flexible primary pipes, 1 meter long, were, in turn subjected to longitudinal pull forces of 450 pounds fora period of ten minutes, It waa required that the Aloes withstand the longitudinal pull without Any cracking of the pipes or coupling movement. Results: All samples withstood the longitudinal pull force without damage to the pipe or couplings. Permeability and Aging Tests Three samples of all sizes of primary pipe were filled with the following liquids and placed in a controlled environment maintained at a temperature of 122•F. for a period of 90 days: • ASTM Reference Fuels A and C - ASTM Reference 011 No, 2 - Gasoline: premium b regular unleaded • Toluene • Ethanol - Methanol Following the exoosure period the samples were tested for loss of liquid, hydrostatic strength and pull strength. Results: The samples retained at least 9996 of their liquids and with• stood the hydrostatic pressure tests of 1,250,18 pal with. our leakage and the pull rests of 450 pounds without any movement of the couplings or damage to the Aloes. The SuperVault MH is the first tank to pass the SwRI 93 -03 Multi-Hazard test, the toughest national test for aboveground fuel tanks, Most tanks are single- hazard rated which means they can withstand a hazard (fire, bullet, impact) one time, but have to be disposed of carefully. SuperVault MH has been tested for multiple exposure to fires and other hazards and has passed an extended element exposure test, This means that if the SuperVault Mhi experiences a hazard, it may be recertified and kept in service rather than having to be replaced. • No tank replacement cost. • No disposal cost. • Minimal down time. SuperVault MH Multi- Hazard Rated Protected Aboveground Fuel Storage Tanks SunerVault M1i' The SuperVault MH is the first MULTI - HAZARD RATED Insulated and Protected Aboveground Fuel Storage Tank available in the World and it is the first tank to pass the stringent safety requirements of Uniform Fire Code Standard A- II -F -1 (formerly known as 79 -7) and Southwest Research Institute Standard 95 43 and 93 -01. The Multi - Hazard Rating allows the SuperVault MH to be recertified for use after exposure to a fire, puncture or impact. The SuperVault MH provides safe aboveground storage with the highest insulation value available in a lightweight concrete design. The unique design provides unsurpassed fire protection and puncture resistance while also making handling and installation much easier than tanks encased in normal weight concrete. Since the tanks are relatively lightweight they can be shipped anywhere in the world. The insulating concrete is also protected from deterioration and damage by an additional outer steel tank. The SuperVault MH is available in two styles, cylindrical and rectangular. pq, jH „Cvlindrleal Tanks - Available from 250 Gallons to 20,000 Gallons The Cylindrical line of the SuperVault MH offers two advantages to the fleet fueling operation: larger capacities available and less unusable capacity. Because of their height these tanks generally require either a ground level fill or an access platform for filling. Special plumbing and , valves are included in the equipment packages for these tanks because the pumping unit Ls mounted on the end of the tank for convenience. • SuperVault MH Rectangular Tanks, - Available from 250 Gallons to 2,000 Gallons The Rectangular line of the SuperVault MH offers two advantages to the smaller fuel user: less visual impact and the simplicity of tank top equipment. Because the rectangular tanks are lower profile than their cylindrical counterparts, pumping equipment may be conveniently located on the top of the tank and still be accessible from the ground.
