above referenced building. Consisting of Malarkey, specification #M4-BHA, which meets
or exceeds the requirements for Class A roof. This roof was installed at Mitchell Moving
and Storage under city of Tukwila permit #M197 -0074.

Dear Mr, Stanley:
In reviewing our current permit files, it appears that your permit for a re -roof, issued on .rune 10,
1997, has not received a final inspection as of the date of this letter by the City of Tukwila
Building Division.
Per the Uniform Building Code and/or Uniform Mechanical Code, every permit issued by the
building official under the provision of this code shall expire by limitation and become null and
void if the building or work authorized by such permit is not commenced within 180 days from
the date of such permit, or if the building or work authorized by such permit is suspended or
abandoned at any time after the work is commenced for a period of 180 days.
Based on the above, if a final inspection is not called for within ten (10) business days from the
date of this letter, the Permit Center will close your file and the work completed to date will be
considered non - complying and not in conformance with the Uniform Building Code and /or
Mechanical Code.
Please contact the Permit Center at (206) 433 -7165 if you wish to schedule a final inspection.

Dear Mr. Nelsen:
The existing roof structure is rated at 25 lbs. per square foot. There is one existing roof
system securely attached to plywood deck. This system weighs 1.5 lbs. per square foot.
The new system weighs approximately two lbs. per square foot. There is no existing
insulation under or over the roof deck. The insulation that exists is over the drop ceilings
above the offices. We have checked the under side of the deck and there appears to be no
dry rot.

This Department has received and reviewed the subject application. U.B.C. Appendix Section
3211(a) requires documentation on five specific items for approval of this type of built -up reroof
application. Additional submitted information is needed to complete our analysis, please review
the following.

U.B.C. Section 3211(a) EXCEPTION: The building official may allow existing roof coverings
to remain when inspection or other evidence reveals all of the following.
A. The roof structure is sufficient to sustain the weight of the additional load to the
roof covering. ,
B. There is not more than one existing roof covering on the structure. (More
information is required)
C. The existing roof covering is securely attached to the deck. (More information
is required)
D. The roof deck is structurally sound. (Engineer's letter must be more specific)
E. The existing insulation is not water soaked. (More information is required)
