surface texture recommended by roofing membrane sheet manufacturor for
deck tYpe and application required. Use over:
1. Insulation.
R. Vapor. Ratardor Nate: No. 15 asphalt - saturated, perforated. organic
felt meeting the requirements of ASTM D 226, Type II or
asphalt - impregnated, glass fiber felt meeting the requirements of ASTM
D 2178, Type III or IV.
C. Modified Bituminous Sheet, Granular Surface: Preformed sheets of
reinforced rubberized asphalt for 'torch' application.
1. Bottom surface: Exposed bituminous sheet, sand coating, or
polyethylene sheet.
2. Top surface: Mineral granules, manufacturer's standard white or
light gray color.
3. Thickness: 50 mils, minimum.
D. Flashing Sheet, Metal Surfaced: Preformed sheets of reinforced
rubberized asphalt for "torch" application.

2.3 UNIFORM THICKNESS INSULATION

B. Base Ply Installation; Install base ply in accordance wS.th the
manufacturer's instructions and acv follows:
1. Fully adhered base ply% Torch -apply bane ply, heating undoraide
of sheet sufficiently to ensure an even layer of fluid bitumen at
point of application. Overlap ends and edges a minimum of 2
inches. While bitumen is still fluid, pressuro -seal overlaps
using a steel roller or trowel. Bitumen must now a minimum of
1/4 inch out from the Aoam. Xnstall in the following locations:
a. Over insulation.
