In reviewing our current records the above noted permit has not received a final inspection by the City
of Tukwila Building Division. Per the Uniform Building Code and/or Uniform Mechanical Code, every
permit Issued by the Building Official under the provisions of this code shall expire by limitation and
become null and void if the building or work authorized by such permit is not commenced within 180
days from the date of such permit, or if the building or work authorized by such permit is suspended or
abandoned at any time after the work is commenced for a period of 180 days.
Based on the above, you are hereby advised to:
• Call the City Of Tukwila Permit Center at (206) 431 -3670 to schedule a
progress / final inspection
A progress Inspection is intended to determine if substantial work has been accomplished since
issuance of the permit or last inspection; or if the project should be considered abandoned.
If such determination is made, the Building Code does allow the Building Official to approve a one-time
extension up to 180 days. Extension requests must be in writing and provide satisfactory reasons
why circumstances beyond the applicants control have prevented action from being taken.
In the event you do not call for the above inspection or request and receive an extension prior to
February 18, 2002, your permit will become null and void and any further work on the project will require
a new permit and associated fees.

This letter is to inform you of corrections that must be addressed before your application for
development permit can be approved. All correction requests from each department must be
addressed at the same time and reflected on your drawings. I have enclosed review comments
from the Building Division. At this time the Fire Department, Planning Department and Public
Works Division have no comments regarding your application for permit.
The City requires that two (2) complete sets of revised plans, per building outlined above, be
resubmitted with the appropriate revision block.

Washington State Energy Code Section 1132.1 requires that re -roof repairs comply
with W.S.E.C. Table 13 -1. The submitted application indicates that only one layer
of 3/4 inch Perlite insulation board is proposed. Because 3/4 inches Perlite
insulation has an R -value of approximately R -2.13, the re -roof can not be approved
as submitted. Please provide additional information to show how compliance to the
Energy Code will be achieved.

Upon review of the above referenced buildings, and the specifications
provided by you, we have estimated a cost to reroof buildings #2 through
#5 and #8. The following is a procedural outline of what our quotation
includes.
First, the existing roofing and associated sheet metal items will be
removed and disposed of off site at an approved facility. The plywood
deck will be swept broom clean and inspected for delamination. Should
we find any decking that would require replacement this will be handled
on a "tirne and materials" basis. You or your representative will be
notified for approval of any decking requiring replacement prior to
starting replacement.
A layer of red rosin paper and 3/4" perlite roof insulation will be
mechanically fastened to the plywood deck. Two plies of type four
fiberglass felt will each be embedded into uniform moppings of hot
asphalt. Upon this a layer of granular surfaced mineral cap sheet
will be installed.
All flashing of curbs, boxes and parapet walls will be accomplished
with two .laye.rs•. of.- t_yp.e four, ply and one_ pl.y of mineral cap_sheet., .
each set in hot asphalt and fastened to the new wood nailer at the
top of the parapet walls.
All clean up of our debris along with the following items are included
in our prices quoted: New prefinished, standard color, 24 gauge copings;
counterflashings, gutters and downspouts; 26 gauge stainless steel
scuppers; crickets between scupper drains and at the backside of units
and /or boxes; new lead flashings; new 2 x treated wood nailers at the
perimeter walls using 1/4" x 21" Rawl split drive anchors; new 2 x
treated wood blocking under conduit pipes; new sleepers under the HVAC
units to maintain a minimum 8" height above the completed roof assembly; RECEIVED
and a manufacturers ten year no dollar limit" guarantee. CITY of TulMnu►

We will tear off the existing roofing down to the substrate
and dispose of the debris at an approved disposal site. Sweep
the substrate broom clean and mechanically attach a 3/4"
cover board over a red rosin paper. Mop two plies of Type
IV ply sheet set in asphalt and then install a 72 pound mineral
surface cap sheet set in asphalt. The base flashings will
consist of mopping one ply of base sheet and one ply of white.
