If the existing line passes the purity test, it will be reconnected with a new pipe in those areas. If the existing line does not pass the purity test, it will be replaced. New PIV's(3) will be placed on each Fire Protection branch that stubs to a new building, They will be placed in islands or other out of the way locations with easy access. Each of the three new buildings, Act III, New Port Bay and the retail store, will have a double detector check vault inside the building. Also, each will have an FDC fine stubbing out from the building side of the vault to a location outside, beyond the building's fail zone. Each of the three FDC's will have easy access and be within 75' of a fire hydrant. These changes will be shown on two RC drawings, which will be sent to you this week. During -the course of demolition, soil contaminated with petroleum products was discovered. Prior to further development, contaminated soil is planned for removal. This soil exists at 16 to 20 feet below the ground surface and will require excavation of overlying soil, stockpiling soil adjacent to the excavation, removal of contaminated soil offsite for disposal, and backfilling with excavated material and other onsite soil. A total of 3,150 cubic yards of soil is planned for excavation, with 650 cubic yards to be taken offsite. Work is expected to take 1 week to complete.
